**1. Study techniques:
**
To get a break-through in this challenging world has never been an easy task for the students. One wonders, how to surmount the obstacles coming into the path of study. “hard-work” is said to be the key of success, but the key must also be inserted into the correct lock. One can overcome the situation by keeping in mind some basic principles: setting up the correct time and direction, whether its in the silence of night or in the light of day, all that matters most is “consistency”. Study must not be compromised with any other activity such as watching television together or playing etc, while the team work has its own importance. Studies show that working together, helping each other by exchanging notes and making own tests, bring in massive probability of passing the targeted examinations. However, cross-questioning in class also plays a vital role for a student. Effective reading is certainly required to boost the ability of quickly understanding the main point. Finally “parental support” is never less than a crucial part of a student’s life.
**2. Dangers of Tobacco:
**
It is surveyed that 1.1 billion people smoke worldwide while countless others are effected by the smoke, which causes excessive burden on health care systems. In Pakistan 22 million people are said to be smoking while many others use tobacco in other means. The profit of approximately 38 billion annually is earned by Government while the cost of tobacco-related illnesses is surely huge. Tobacco not only effects our health, but destroys the economy and working power of people as well. Therefore quick actions should be taken, such as banning tobacco in public places, restricting it’s sale to youngsters and educating citizens at it’s dangers in order to confront it’s destruction. Historically, “hard work” has been credited with achieving top grades in school. However, recent studies have shown that this alone isn’t sufficient in ensuring a student’s success. Other important factors, such as, self-discipline, consistent routine, study schedule customized to the student’s circadian cycle, minimal “play”, group work, effective reading, and parental support, all play a crucial role in effective studying and doing well.
The second paragraph seems fine to me. I wouldn't really take anything away from it, but it depends what's the purpose of these writings and who is it for. Is it supposed to be someone's homework?
Two condensed versions of passage 2 about tobacco:
1.1 billion people, including 22 million Pakistanis, smoke worldwide. Many use other tobacco-related products, or are exposed to smoke, burdening health care systems. Although government earns 38 billion profit annually, tobacco harms health, and tobacco-related illnesses damage economy and people’s working power. Therefore remedies should be taken like banning tobacco in public places, restricting its sales to youngsters, and educating citizens about its dangers to confront tobacco-induced destruction.
