Risky---If you didnt get what a universal set of laws means, then you wont get anything else from my post. Cows roaming the streets isnt exactly the same as the call for prayers. As far as Im concerned, if the azhaan bothers or annoys the majority of people, then maybe its best that its banned from being heard all over the city. But if most people dont mind, theres no reason for it to be banned. If its disturbing others, lets say fajr azhaan, then its best made inside the mosque. However, I dont see why one set of people should be able to have their way, and the same doesnt apply to another.Besides since when did I condone what the talibaan did or did not do? I think that its not just Muslims who should be able to practice freely in the world, I have nothing against other faiths.Islam doesnt teach us to do everything just for ourselves, we're supposed to respect other faiths.I just think its unfair that this decision was made; instead of progressing, this way of thinking is going backwards.Just because one issue is brought up thats against Muslims, does not mean people should bring the Sauidis or their corrupt ways into the discussion.Yes they are also unfair and etc, however this concerns Britain and its laws.
And do not think Im taking this stand because Im a Muslim myself.

Strange, considering EVERY single one of your posts are either bashing the west or boasting of your perfect system.
We are talking about cultures here. British civilization existed for thousands of years and developed their culture WITHOUT the call to prayer interupting their lives 5 times per day. Who are you to say what they should consider noise?
Is that really any different than the vanguards of any religion who claim perfection, piety and the only path to God and afterlife when there are just as many contradictions and holes?

Hmmm wanting a system where we run our own affairs is problem for secularists i know that they want to implement their bankrupt system on us but when we want to implement our own system it becomes a boast according to crack heads.
British civillisation existed fot thousands of years ? not too long ago they was burning women to death accusing them of being witches and they used to throw sewage from there windows onto the streets below?
Yet again your discrmination shows its ugly head yet again ice cream vans making noise, clubs making noise, people making noise no problem but people making the call to prayer becomes a problem i think you need to renew your annual KKK membership!
Thanks to almighty GOD, you have your own country; come back to your own country. How would you like to stay in a foreign country with such disgrace. I understand you might have passport, but passport verses respect??? passport verses our religious values????
If you all are true muslims with eman fe qouloubehe. you all would leave Britian and come back. Or you would do SENA ZOURE the way arabs are doing in our country?? Bye sokoon

tolerance should be mutual and secularism should be both ways
islam should practise secularism since it benefits mulslim living
as minorities in many countries.

Thanks Rvikz
I think its a good idea to entertain a discussion on tolerance as alot of Muslims are being pressurised to have tolerance of other viewpoints and practices that exist in the wider society.
The reality is that unrestricted tolerance does not exist in the secular societies neither in any other society. So western nations would tolerate certain practices but ban others. So examples of this is that Canada forbade the presence of Islamic law governing a specific community (this is just an example and not the focus of my discussion). Even if the majority in that community decided that it wanted religious Islamic law, Canada would not accept this as it is a secular country which seperates religion from politics.
So it is quite clear that tolerance in its unrestricted form does not exist neither is it possible for it to exist as every society has laws and norms that it allows and forbids through the mechanism of law.
So it has to be admitted that if a religion obliges a certain practice or forbids a certain practice but if the secular law is not in agreement with it, then it will face pressure and these religious practices will need to be changed so as to agree with societal norms. So the religious clergy faced immence pressure to accept homosexual clergy and women priests.
So really, religious minorities cannot practice all of their religion if it clashes with the law of the land. Rather they are forced and pressurised to accept and compromise. Another example is france and the ban on religious outfits and symbols.
So everyone including the muslims are forced to accept the secular viewpoint and the laws which emanate from it.
This is not possible for the Muslims as they do not divorce religion from politics. Rather Islam unifies the spiritual with the political and organises a society based on its ideology. Hence it gave rules regarding legitamate company structures, public and private property, the manner in collecting and distributing wealth in society etc.
Hence it becomes impossible for Muslims to adopt to societies which carry different values and systems.
I invite you to study the Islamic way of life as a system for society and not as a religion that came for brown coloured people.
( This is Allah's land.It doesnt belong to any Kafir or what not)

Hindus claim this is Bhagwan's land. It doesn't belong to any Muslim or what not.
Going back to the topic, this is rather a silly decision. Both churches and mosques should be allowed to ring the bells or do azaan.
Same with any other faith. But if they're banning noise from both churches and mosques then I don't see how this is targeted just at Muslims.
Thanks to almighty GOD, you have your own country; come back to your own country. How would you like to stay in a foreign country with such disgrace. I understand you might have passport, but passport verses respect??? passport verses our religious values????

in that case people should acknowledge that they have traded their religion and religious prestige for a blue passport and stop whining.

I have no problems living in the 'kaffir's land' as I find the values being upheld here are more often than not higher than those upheld in all the "Muslim" countries combined.

Cmon Sista! Leave these Paks overseas. For every one person leaving, we make 10 more every minute. God willing we can ramp up the "production" on a very short notice.
Heck if they can't hear a MAToo crow about, they can buy a clock during their visit to holy land. Let them enjoy their life here and hereafter. You live at cool place here, God will not force you to live in a hot place in the next life. I guarantee that.
On a serious note, we in Pak land should bar these hideous loud speakers that MAToos are using on every block.
