PPP's downfall imminent?

There were times when everyone was all praise to Zardari’s Mechiavellian politics (including me). But it looks like those days are very near to be over. Consider this:

Mehmood Qureshi has very good reputation in PPP, but he has now left PPP and accused the party of becoming Zardari league by joining hands with PMLQ. He says that Zardari’s only goal is to lengthen his rule.

Similarly, Raza Rabbani is also a very strong voice in PPP. And he has been showing more and more of the independent thinking. For example this: “President snubs Rabbani over Haqqani”

There are examples of many other PPP members who are not happy anymore with the style of Zardari’s politics.

So now that Qureshi has joined PTI along with his supporters, he has opened gates for other PPP heavy weights to follow. And if this thing continues then PPP will be divided and will lose its strength in the center.

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

nope.........PPP and N-League have many year to live..........because there is abundance of stupids in pakistan still..........who will vote for them.

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

PPP ko Asghar Khan, Zia Ul Haq, Musharraf nahi khutum kar saka. .. pti tu abhi sirf ik "a new kid around the block" hia ...

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

You are right here,Present ruling elite have downed the PPP , Their worst act was not going after the killers of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto ,Perhaps they compromised with ........ on the issue for sake of remaining in power .
All credit goes to Zardari and Rahman Malik .

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

The problem with Zardari is that he is pragmatic, but he has charisma of an alligator, and he is unable to manage his partly let alone the country. As for NS/PMLN I'd trust Taliban more than Shareifs, and with media against both parties PTI seems reasonable alternative.

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

Continuing the above discussion...

We know that PPP's strength is in Southern Punjab (Seraiki belt) and rural Sindh. Rural Sindh supports it because the leaders have always been Sindhis.
Now if PPP-Seraiki-belt is unhappy with Zardari and wants leadership change then it is highly likely that this new leader would be from Seraiki belt. But in such a scenario people from rural Sindh will continue to support Zardari due to his affiliation with Sindh.

**This means a split in PPP on ethnic basis, and demise of PPP is a political force.

**END.

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

If you read my post no. 6 you will see that the threat to PPP is not from PTI but from PPP itself.
PTI will only get a few politicians from PPP but actually unhappiness with Zardari can potentially split PPP's two ethnic strongholds.

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

I agree that PTI's good days are coming.
It will be only later that Pakistanis will realize what they have bought for themselves.

(But that's not the topic of the thread. So excusez moi.)

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

PPP is still biggest force but PPP supporters are surprised of ruling elite. I am indicating since months about Billawal Bhutto , perhaps he is too among them .

Re: PPP’s downfall imminent?

parties run on ideologies on idea.
a quote from V for Vendetta

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

So who do you think should be the replacement?
That's the most important question which will determine if PPP remains a united party.

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

^ what ever Pakistanis bring about it will still be better than Musharraf, Sharif's and Zardaris

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

What do you think if Imran dies tomorrow, all the halla ghulla will be gone? People are not important its the idea & ideology.

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

PPP's "sindh card" has been drowned down the drain in the recent floods. Vast swamps of land were flooded in interior Sindh and hundreds of thousands of people were affected but keeping up the typical incompetent and corrupt way of government, they didn't as much as bat an eyelid to help those poor sindhis. I was watching a program in which a lot of people from a flood-hit interior Sindh area were literally cursing the govt. Now they really have to be stupid to vote these thugs again or support them in the racist "sindh card".

PPP is out and PTI is in !!!!

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

They can curse PPP all they want, but unfortunately they will still vote for PPP. Even if they don't vote for PPP, it will still not be PTI for sure. If anything they will vote for other Sindhi nationalist parties .

Re: PPP's downfall imminent?

What country are you talking about?
