PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

^ I dont know whether to laugh or cry at this statement. its funny, but true. and so many ppl were gunned down because they dared to disagree..

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

I think that would be a better alliance. She (minus zardari) is lesser of the 2 evils.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

how do u suggest zardari be subtracted from the equation though?

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

the same way Musharraf might be?

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

Ah the glory days of Musharraffisms

The process of accountability is being directed at those guilty of plundering and looting the National wealth, and tax evaders. It is also directed towards loan defaulters and those who have had their loans rescheduled or condoned. The process of accountability will be transparent for the public to see.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

Zardari has been missing from public view for a long time. BB is more likely to be seen in public with Ch.Shujaat than Zardari these days.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

Even today Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that if BB accepts President in unifform we'll accept her.

Now its either that a deal is imminent **OR its to **divide the two main political parties.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

I think they are seperated too(BB/Zardari)…She was living here in Dubai & he was in New York. When she went to USA ,she didn’t stay with him in New York apartment.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

they haven’t separated man..come on. We already have more than our fair share of rumors. the news of their separation would spread quickly. Zardari might just be a stinker in bed or turned gay while in prison :halo:

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

There are now reports that Murtaza Bhutto’s wife - Ghinwa, and his daughter - Fatima want to challenge BB in Larkana.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

you have made enough suggestions about how musharraf may be subtracted, lets hear how you want the gods of democracy to sort their own mess out.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

should I start quoting Benazir’s words about military govt and all that. as recently as her latest fox news interview

woh toh sab bhool jatay hain na.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

Latest news is that BB will become a Sonia Gandhi-like figure, but not actually become next PM, if a deal is struck. Shaukat Aziz will continue as Finance minister under a PPP-led alliance govt with PML. Aftab Shahban Mirani is touted as PPP nominee for PM if they win the election.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

I just got the revised version of Benazir’s autobiography “Daughter of the east”

I’ll share if I find anything interesting :chai:

SillyBilly: that seems like a reasonable assessment. :chai:

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

Whatever our overlords deem best for us, we should accept and try to spin it into something positive. That's how it works.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

Well, if what you are saying has any weight, then it seems BB has come to her senses. On same conditions Musharraf was willing to hand over Premiership to PPP, making Amin Fahim Prime Minister in 2002. It was BB selfishness and greed that kept PPP out of power during last 5 years plus that attitude have put her on worse condition now.

As even now, if some of PML (Q) idiots come to their senses and would do any good in next election, her party whatever deal she makes, would be out of power after next election too.

If it was PPP (minus mega corrupt leader of PPP) working with President, today Hudud-ul-Zia would have got repealed completely. There would have been no discrimination in issuing of Passports on basis of beliefs. Most likely, these retarded so-called Jihadis would have had strong crackdown on them and probably their back would have got broken by now.

Most likely, Pakistan would have had more tolerant laws then what they have now. In other words, Pakistan would have been more ‘true Islamic country’ then what Pakistan is today.

Re: PPP aaaway he aaaway - Mush and PPP Alliance? (merged)

I think BB seems to have realised the mistake she made of not letting Fahim become PM 5 years ago, which Musharraf eagerly wanted. Certainly her charm offensive in Washinton DC has failed.

Analysts in Washington and Islamabad point out that the White House remains skeptical of Ms. Bhutto’s capacity, questioning her authority over Pakistan’s military and intelligence services and troubled by charges that she and her husband illegally gained millions of dollars in deals with people who did business with the government when she was in power. (She successfully fought two money laundering cases in Pakistan, though she continues to face charges in a separate case in a court in Switzerland.) “I’m not sure if there’s any amount of charm or orchestration on Benazir’s part that will change this,” Craig Cohen, deputy chief of staff at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, said in an e-mail message. “Something major would have to happen in Pakistan for the Bush administration to give up on Musharraf.” More to the point, Mr. Cohen said, there is little reason to believe that having Ms. Bhutto at the helm would fundamentally alter the hold of the military and the intelligence services on the state machinery. “Even after free elections, the military will still call the shots on national security issues,” he said. “Firing the manager only gets you so far.”

As the elections come ever closer, all the main cards remain with Musharraf, and Benazir will not want to miss out on them come what may, because that would be suicide for her party. I don’t believe there will ever be any written deal, just a series of “confidence building measures” leading upto election time i.e. closing of NAB cell, appointment of new CEC, and appointment of interim govt.

In fact BB realised the fatal mistake she made in 2002 by not letting Fahim become PM many years ago i.e. in 2004 when she first approached the govt for relief, and Zardari was released from prison after 8 years. Then she allowed her party to part in the local elections in 2005, take part in the Senate elections and gave the govt support in some key legislation in 2006, and in 2007 she ordered her party to play only a very token role in the judicial demos. At the same time she has confused and humiliated Nawaz Sharif at every turn. Now in the next month or so that process will be completed when she makes a “conditional” offer to support Musharraf’s re-election, after she get’s some more relief in the caes against her (none will be dropped as such, but some will be softened).
