Afridi's interview with GEO dated last month - we went from individual player burnout and not having enough time to rest (in preparation for the next series), to him trying his level best in securing his place in the test side, only for the conspiracy theory in-between which started out making remarks on it's own that new players are a needy requirement to be introduced on the scene even though Afridi was making headlines in papers almost every alternate week at that time.
I don't believe for one second this is even remotely related to these issues. After having heard Inzamam's politically-correct audio interview, various levels of articles related to Woolmer and the shifting of the mood by PCB in bringing back Shahid by switching his decision, to his very own interview, has lead me towards the one and only man who, in at least one ocassion that I very vividly remember, had utterly refused to step down and leave the spotlight in order to thrust the young and experienced campaigners on the scene, but has used his power to reverse the theory of "Practice what you preach". So much so for those spending countless hours with Mullahs and Tableeghi-Jamats from all around the country.
But of course, after the mission was partially accomplished in removing arguably the most prolific entertainer of the modern era while convenient threats were made that Afridi's contract might be under serious scrutiny due to his forced decision, nonsense issues such as double salary raise and "player burnout" became a part of weekly sports section in nation's circulated newspapers.
