What's wrong with that? I used to put lectures and qirat in ipod and we used to listen when needed at halaqah. You never know, maybe the person was listening to Qirat or a lecture

Our local mosque doesn't have a Parda And now first time in 4 years they ut the partition in aftaar time.Thats sad Mostly women are against the parda,the logic they are presenting is that if you go local grocery store you don't use hijaab so why in mosque.And funny part is ladies coming in Jummah prayers are usually in mini skirts and they start wearing abaya their and when namaz is finished they take of their abayaas in front of everyone and go back to their work.

Do you believe girl sitting in skirts showing her self is listening lecture or Brittney :aq:And first of all the wrong thing Taraweeh is sunnat-e-mauqidaa so why don’t you preform taraweeh first when you are baligh and you can fast.

Fasting and taraweeh are two different things. Like Mr. Frodo said, appearance can be decieving. Lets leave fardh where it is and sunnat where it is and not try to mix each other :)…
The point was not about whether you should listen to ipod and not pray taraweeh but rather if listening to ipod is masjid is wrong

The people I know are right (they are friends and tableeghi jammaat) rest I don't know and I don't care.Atleast they are doing one part of sunnah better than those naked girls who first of all came to masjid in that kind of dress and then on top of it listening I pods and humming with it is not right.

A lot of us (muslims) have "munafiqat" in us in different forms, some of which we are not even aware of. Like changing our looks / dress/ appearance in order to fit in any particular group, to get maximum respect and to avoid difficult situations.
Also some people might discuss religon very "Sincerely" among religious people and would get labled as "Pious", but also share the dirtiest jokes when among people who would appreciate and respect them for those jokes.

This is a totally different issue yes looks can be decieving but if you know them very well then they cannot be decieving.But muslim women in short dress is not likely so pious that she starts to have habits of Hazrat Aisha or Hazrat Fatima R.A.
There is always difference between a prostitute and some pious lady living in a home and praying to ALLAH.

Ume I would say that its better for them to make the effort and at least come to the masajid then not coming at all...You never know what is in their mind and maybe one day they absorb the meaning..on the other hand if their actions are too exuberent as to disturb the sanctity of the masajid ,then I would take some action...rest Allah mian is the Judge:)

'that kind of dress' is not the same thing as being naked.
secondly, you did not mention they were humming in your initial post its new info
third, they may be humming a naat or nasheed and not fergie
fourth, the fact that they are in the masjid is a good thing, no matter what they are they are atleast there, interaction with others could be helpful.
or hey we can just point fingers at them call them bad and feel good about our musalmaniyat..probably while someone else is pointing their fingers at us and calling us bad and feeling good about their musalmaniyat.
lastly if you have such a big issue, get them booted out. masjid must have some policies that can be enforced for dress code.

UZ all I am saying is instead of judging them try to reach and get through to them, u will get a lot of sawab and they will get guidance. I know I made some positive changes in my life because of one of my freinds who did not judge but reasoned with me.

Tried it but everything goes for voting and their are some good muslims who are forcing them but still some Arab muslims are denying that.So we can only hope for best.

No one can be compared to pious people Hazrat Aisha or Hazrat Fatima (R.A). Allah makes it very clear in Surah Ahzab (while address mother of believers - i.e. Prophet's wives) that they are not like any other woman (they have greater imaan and cannot be compared to woman of today). No matter how pious a woman you see today, she cannot even come close to Hazrat Aisha or Hazrat Fatima. But like I said, even if I know a person well enough and know that he/she listens to music everyday, I still cannot tell what he/she is listening to unless I myself borrow the ipod from him/her and listen to it at that point
