Post Killer Workout Soreness

Is it lactic acid? I can’t sit or move without my legs hurting. Also, had a two day headache that began after the first half hour of the workout. Help.

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

to me soreness is a greattttttt feeling.....im not sure about u getting headache though.. u were probably tired??.... and probably didnt properly warmed up?..

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

^ agreed.

Being sore after a workout means that you have had a good workout. Just make sure there is no pain associated with it.

As far as your headache is concerned.....are you hydrated? make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day and especially before, during and after your workout.

It could also just be a coincidence and may not have anything to do with your workout regime.

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

Absolutely right about the water. And also, hopefully you didn't do too much too fast!

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

I doubt that the headache has anything to do with the workout

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

ya headaches are prolly down to you being too dehydrated, consume 500ml of water whilst ya warming up and about 500ml during ya work out, more if needed.

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

yes its lactic acid

dont stop working out cuz its gonna hurt more

keep working out and its gonna get consumed within few days and then u wont feel pain anymore

and for few days its gonna hurt a lil but if u stop its gonna hurt more cuz it wont be consumed by ur body and stay where it is

and keep drinking water

headache can be because of wrong posture may be u pulled sum neck or back muscles

it is normal it will go away too

if it doesnt go see a doctor

but give workout a try for atleat a week

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

The headache might be what is known as 'tensdion headcahe'. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you have started training just now then you just need to take it easy for the first few weeks. Soreness is good, it means that you the muscles are recovering and rebuilding. The soreness is thought to be caused by micrscopic tearing of muscle fibers. As your body gets used to the training over the next few weeks, the soreness will also diminish to a great extent.

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

I tend to disagree..soreness is by no means an indication that u have had a good workout. If you're regular to gym.. (hit gym 3/4 times a week).. u wont even feel soreness, but that doesnt mean you're not gaining muscle mass or havent had a good workout. If u go to gym like 3/4 times a week , the only reason i could think of that ull get soreness in the muscles you targetted is that you probably werent hitting that muscle intense enough.. and when you did..thats when it gets sore... or another reason could be that if you hit gym after some time... you body kinds of forgot the pain it used to have... and u hit a muscle intensely...thats when u're that muscle will be sore..

Other than that... no, soreness isnt an indication that u've had a good workout, bcuz your body get used to the pain.. and it doesnt get sore if u're regular.

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

^ agreed.

however i assumed that the original poster was new to working out....I may be wrong in my assumption.

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

Fastest way to relief is massage , it disperse acid from you muscles and you feel better.

Re: Post Killer Workout Soreness

u get sore if u dont frequent the gym much and if u didnt stretch before and after the workout. actually i think u should stretch only after the workout.
