Hello all,
Me and hubs are going to Karachi in december and want to stay and explore the city we’ll be stopping over for2-3 days. So far we have the following cities in our list:

-Bahrain
-Dubai

Re: Possible stopovers while going to Karachi

How about Beirut? or Amsterdam? both are nice cities and also Salalah in oman, pretty green temp wise is cool and is called the city of the prophets
rio de jeneiro and lisbon are pretty cities also

In December Dubai is a very good option due to its climate during that time in the year. Most of the remaining European destinations will be very cold.

Dubai is a very good place to be... and if you take connections via Emirates than you might get airline transit which includes hotels and stuff and very reasonable rate.

If you are coming from North America check if Emirates fly to your part of the world. Emirates is starting its A380 service to NY from 1st Aug this year.

Re: Possible stopovers while going to Karachi

Yeah i agree in december Dubai will rock! Too bad i am going somewhere:bummer:

I would go with Istunbul!

Re: Possible stopovers while going to Karachi

^We chose Istanbul.....I'm dying to see this historical city!!!

Re: Possible stopovers while going to Karachi

Oh yeah good choice!!

Even i want to see Istanbul now cuz of the movie Mission Istaanbul

Re: Possible stopovers while going to Karachi

Istanbul is a good choice for a stopover, as it is a beautiful city. However I assume that you are flying with Turkish Airlines. And that airline is total crap.

Re: Possible stopovers while going to Karachi

umar bhai have u been there?

Only at Istanbul airport a few times when I was stopping over on my way from Austria to Pakistan and back. That's why I know that Turkish Airlines is useless.

Re: Possible stopovers while going to Karachi

Yes my freind told me so! And most of the staff hardly know any other language than Turkish! Lay kha mar!

But they should not miss Istanbul just becasue of the airline, I think.

:hehe:

I have quite a funny experience with Turkish airlines…They not only NOT know any language other than Turkish but they also don’t understand sign language or hand gestures, heck no one on the Istanbul airport understands or speak English either. But otherwise I liked Turkish because their fares are almost always cheaper and they’re on time. Very nice. I can’t really complain.

Avoid Europe as much as possible, that is if you want some peace of mind.
