With the new tough talks from Cheney about pushing harder to get Al Qaeda, Musharraf is being bullied and pushed to work harder and get the terrorist quicker because he has not met the expectations he promised Bush in Sept of last year. So like Iraq was helped during the Iraq Iran war in the 80s, with Iraq all the support it needed at the time was starnded after wards.. will that happen to Pakistan?

Bhai why would they invade Pakistan when they have their man here ready to do what they asked. When Bush snaps the whip, Musharraf will act. Just wait and see some more “training camps” in FATA being bombed. Of course ISPR and Tasnim Aslam will deny it had anything to do with US pressure.:halo:

I don't oppose the elimination of terrorists but what games is our govt playing? If Musharraf knows that these people exist in FATA why hasn't he bombed them to bits in the 5 years since 9/11?

right…the camps became an issue after the geedars ran away from afghanistan when they realized their rifle from angraiz ka zamana doesn’t really do much against daisy cutters.
Pakistan govt has tried military force..many pakistani soldiers were killed by these militants. pakistani govt tried to reason with them and have some diplomatic agreements..which these jackasses were violating anyways.
so diff routes have been tried by pak govt short of bombing the whole place, or allowing NATO forces to bomb the whole place.
Yes its easy to blame govt, but their challenge is to balance four forces
NATO forces who are all to willing to launch attacks in the tribal area, and if you recall what happened in afghaistan, daisy cutters would be all over
Miltants who are hiding among the population, and launching attacks
local tribals who are buddy buddy with these militants and want to protect them, or in many cases are in cahoots with them
Pakistani public sentiment
With the difficult terrain, it is hard to have teh type of conventional war. the result is the many Pakistani soldiers who died trying to remove this wart from our tribal areas.
so wat do you do then, mass aerial assults and blow everything up?
or intelligence based precision hits on militant hideouts, like the ones carried out by drones?

i wouldnt expect a iraq type situation if the authourities stay on top of the situation. the situation in iraq is that the US has complete control over directions, we still have our own government in charge.
its important to solve each case in its intirety to help halt terrorist activities

US will not attack Pakistan militarily, if need be, they wil get rid of their current agent Musharraf, and replace him with another general.

As far as oher corrupt politicians go, they were in govt prior to musharraf, they will be in govt after musharraf. I am also talking about the people who are not in musrraf regime, atleast not yet. specifically Benazir, she has been jumping up and down since 9/11 to get placed as the head puppet, but so far her pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
Frankly, I dont care how corrupt a leader is, as long as he can deliver results. because almost all politicians are corrupt one way or the other (some exceptions may be there), if the net benefit they provide is higher than the net damage that they do then I am okay with that. It may sound cynical but thats the reality of Pakistan and Pakistani politics.
Its not just the govt, its the nation, chor bazari, hadd ****** and short cuts everywhere. seems like to them rishwat was not prohibited, but prescribed as a pillar of faith. Leaders are from the same population..jaisi rooh waisay farishtay.

Bottom line: most probably, no. Is it a possibility? Very much so.
Unlike Iraq, at least two of Pakistani's neighbours would be very happy with an invasion...with one very large one willing to hold America's coat as she does her thing...China, in the meanwhile...will pay lip service but in the end will do nothing.

Also the army REGULARS are not deployed in Waziristan. These are Frontier Corps who are in Waziristan and they are poorly equipped and trained. They are supported by some regulars and the new QUICK REACTION FORCE.

Attacking Israel now as well?! It seems you vastly overestimate the 'power' of Pakistan
As for Waziristan, like in Balochistan, the FC are deployed,as are normal police, but the lead and major operations are handled by the military. Hence the use of helicopter gunships and F-16 bombers.This is just a fact.
If you look at pics from the Waziristan opeartion, you will see Army soldiers.

I would not make a mistake by picking on Israel... they are lethel when it comes to defence... they have the best airforce plus MOSAD... if you go back in history and see what they did to Egypt, that was a few decades ago, dont wanna get into wat they can do now.... I think musharaf made an educated move by going forward with a friendship with Israel... :D

Our ballistic missiles can reach Israel and all the targets I mentioned. We have the capability to nuke their assets.
Sir, it is a FACT that the FC is doing the MAJORITY OF THE OPERATIONS. Even if you look at the CNN footage they are ALL FC men.
