Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
Oh it's that time of year again. PCG, just import a guy and find out for yourself, you've been obsessing over it for long enough.

Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
This one lady, she didn't even have to delouse her imported Pakistani husband.
Talk about importing a husband from Pakistan, it's all fine and dandy. But talk about importing a few brides from Vietnam and everyone loses their mind.
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
I haven't imported my husband yet, but Inshallah, make dua everything works out!
You may see my story from my past posts.
My fiance mashallah runs his own business in Pakistan and I never in my life thought I would ever marry someone from back home but alhumdulilah we have developed a good understanding.
In the intial stages, I doubted him a lot and during one of our conversations, I blatantly said the following to him:
You might not know but I have handed my visa back to the embassy and my dad does not know about this, so I am no longer a British citizen and will have to spend my life in Pakistan.
I expected him to run and hide but no, he said the following...I don't care about the visa, if I wanted to get to UK, i could do so easily..I have enough money to, my siblings are there....I don't need a spouse for a a visa. He said, I need you...I want us to have a happy life together wherever that is.
Basically all I'm going to say is that at the moment, this sounds like a succesful story however until we are married and living here..i can't say for sure -- I will report back in a few years time.
Everybody is different and like someone said above, its about compromising and seeing each other through the thick and thin. Hopefully everything works out for you.
:D

Didn't nadz import her's from Pakistan? Her story has success written all over it.

Visa? Really? A "citizen" relinquishing her "visa"? Let's just assume citizens had visas, you think he would have fell for that? "Guess who just came back from the embassy, and does not have a nationality anymore". Granted we're jungli and all, but we are not that stupid.
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
I said citizenship to him, not visa... ^
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
i bet he was really fooled by that. ![]()
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
One of my coworkers was 'imported' from Pakistan by his Pakistani-American wife. He used to work as a software engineer in Pakistan. Found a similar job here few months after arriving. Mashallah, they have been married for 3 years and now have a child and seem well settled.

Are you importing him?
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
Well, it's a competitive market, and then you need super awesome communication skills. Depends on where you've studied from back home I suppose, your exposure to work culture here, etc....
the same kind of smartwork is required if the girl and guy are from the same country.
lot of factors are involved .
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
I know of quite a few examples where the guy came here after being sponsored by wife. A lot of these marriages are successful Mashallah.
*The initial stages of ANY marriage are VERY difficult...doesn't matter who you bring from where. It has less to do with what region the person is from and more to do with two different people combining their lives together. *
Point is...sometimes people will blame importing but in reality the relationship is simply going through its growing pains.
soooo true!!! seeen it myself a couple of times now.
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
I know of three imported hubbies. All of them are not educated and couldn't find a great job here. However, they all work 7 days a week and have two jobs. Their spouses stay at home. One imported hubby stays with his inlaws. They do everything their wives say.
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
I agree with Reha, marriage is extremely difficult in the beginning. It depends on the couple to make it work.
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
You women speak like you're doing men a favour by **importing **them.
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
In some cases it would be more like importing a diamond and then giving him a raw deal.
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
Someone who can't do stuff on his own.
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
Cute story ![]()
Just one question, why would a british citizen have a visa to hand back to the embassy? A visa for what? Or did you mean passport? Is that all it takes to renounce British nationality?
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
Come on guys give her a break.Maybe she is not expressing her completely but you get what is she talking about…
About Positive Story
Sorry I don’t have one
But I hope and pray PCG story is the next.
I hope the Guy be respectful and God fearing.
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
positive story #1
Girl (born and raised in the US) married a guy from india (rishta came from extended family..(guy was the nephew of her taiyi or something)...marriage took place in India, and she stayed there with him and his family for the year it took for his immigration to be approved. He worked for an American techy company in India, and was able to retain employment with them once in the US. They now have a couple of kids, settled in well, living happily ever after
postive story #2:
girl from america..guy from pakistan who was studying for USMLE when they married...she brought him back to the US, worked to support them while he studied for his exams...he passed, got his residency...they now have 3 kids, are happily settled, while she stays at home with the children for the time being..
Re: Positive Stories about Imported Men
I just know of one story where the guy was imported from Pakistan, married to a girl born and raised in the US. Major adjustment issues. Guy had to struggle in order to find a professional job here. Had a really hard time. Not sure if he ever did. He was an MBA from back home. Girl had an OK job so they needed to live with her parents to save on costs and get by. Guy didn't like being "ghar damaad" and eventually marriage broke down.
which MBA school did he go to?
if its IBA or LUMS then i believe its different than doing it from other private schools.
and did the girl help him understanding US market and also did she help him finding out the appropriate opportunity?

No, it wasn't IBA or LUMS for sure.
I don't really know what her role was in all of this.
The thing is that everyone's experience is unique. Just because one person went through a rough time doesn't mean everyone will. I guess there are generalized perceptions that we all have, but at the end of the day, I guess we should all do our homework and have good expectations.
