is there however a real issue with having pigs at a farm if you are not going to eat em? if you owned some wooded land with wild boars, and if you could would you have an issue making money in allowing boar hunting? (licenses and permits aside).

is it wrong to use things that use pigskin? is it wrong to engage in manufacturing somthing that uses pigskin, or to be a tannery or to be a broker for that?

I think we go overboard when it comes to pigs. I understand the reasons that t is forbidden (aside from a couple of goofy ones that are even posted n this thread) and dont consume pork, dont offer it to anyone.

but if you look at the broader question that i was asking ..it was around other uses of this animal , aside from being a food source.

Is is OK to run a whorehouse provided you don’t indulge in doing the act yourself? Or is it OK to be a pimp if you are not directly involved in the trade? How about selling Heroin? Or how about the seargent on a motorcycle in Pakistan who sits away from his subordinate and allows him to take bribes and yet takes a portion of it…

Fraudia Ji, I know you are not into asking scholars for their opinions regarding doubtful matters, but a little common sense in Islam is always permissible and appreciated…

Why would you trade in something which has been deemed Haram to begin with? The idea behind ‘Haram’ is to decrease its effect, not increase it by becoming a part of it…

Apart from your boar hunting idea, provided you had land that big, using and touching stuff made from pigskin knowingly, for me at least, is like reducing myself to the sum of my distastes…
