and when i say prostitution, i’m more inclined to call the new husbands “prosititution solicitors” than call the victim women “prostitutes”. it’s hard to explain, but..yeah.

I see. I suppose the earthquake victims must be going thru a massive emotional turmoil as well. Its not just that they need money and a roof over their heads. I'm sure its not easy to watch members of your family get burried under rubble...
Perhaps the marriage solution serves the purpose of providing companionship to these people. Supposedly, if you're practicing polygamy the Islamic way, then charity is a main factor.
Interestingly, most muslims here feel that polygamy should not be a solution...
So then, do we just practice polygamy when our penis's just want more lovin?
Sorry to put it that way, but seriously, I can't fathom people defending polygamy in religion forum, and then when a real life situation comes up...everyone kinda chickens out...including the men.

^^ lame way of putting it.
No one is against polygamy - but if we push it then the victims are referred to as "Prostitutes" by low life people.
Few of the reasons why you do not see people marrying to victims is:
1) - They have to wait 4 months
2) - We have to give the victims their rights to choose.
3) - Some women, might not want to marry, and thus introduction of more women based work related jobs.
4) - Most women disallow there husband to go and marry another women. Therefore, he cannot marry.

Don’t those 4 reasons also apply to not marrying perfectly healthy non-victimized “hot” and “robust” and “attractive” women?

Not that i believe polygamy is encouraged or anything but i do understand what PCG is trying to say. Men who so vehemently defend their right to polygamy seem nowhere to be found when an actual disaster happens and women are left to fend for themselves. In my humble opinion, the reason for polygamy was/is social justice. I don't see how social justice is served when a man marries another woman because he lusts after her. . . but when women could actually be helped by polygamous marriages, men are nowhere to be found.

Please refrain from generalising. I am sure there are plenty men in Pakistan willing to marry (not necessarily second, third or fourth, rather their first marriage).
This thread is kinda a dumb - there are already plenty men in pakistan (more men then women) - therefore polygamy is not required.

Pnoor, will you state once and for all your position om muta'a relationships? It could act as an auxilliary backup woman in the house if something happens to the main woman, like a backup generator. Explique, ma chère une fois pour toute.
