the Prophet (saw) says that marriage increases a person's rizq hence saying that due to financial matters a wife can stop her husband from re-marrying wud be refuting the saying of the prophet (saw)....

A reference would be highly appreciated, mod.
It really woke up some memories..... When I asked my husband not to remarry, because I was away etc. He quoted the exact same hadice.
But, Allahjee is all knowing.....
Instead of his risq being increased, he really went broke. All the investments
I had done for the name of marriage, went down the drain.
When he married me, business would blooming. Yet he didnt know how
to manage a business practically, the financial side of it. He got flats and 2 taxis and a limousine too. I guess, he thought he could just remarry asap
and make things run.
The reality:
He got diabetes now. Former mistress, now second wife had miscariage and
she is almost infertile now due to medical reasons at age of 36. She is not
able to work at all, having severe panthom pain.
The economy of my husband is loco. He started to work as engineer, before
that he used to work outside his field. But, he is in no position to support me.
At end, whom becomes the big looser? ------>Pathani.
Every man think, they can treat wives equally, but truth is, the heart and mind of a man can only harmonize with one wife. The prophets and sahaba were better and higher caliber of being man. And today, we do have a choice.
Trust me, by accepting second wife, it does not make life easier or happy.
Im talking with real hand experience.
If I had had years of marriage or kids, I would not be as hurt as I am.
The trick is also not to violate the first wife.
To give her some years of undivided attention.
To give her kids and security.
