Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

CJP says that Politicians and Military rulers have failed the country, he did miss out on pointing out Judiciary’s role on several occasions; as now in the comity of nations our judiciary is a laughing stock.

However; this does not take away any credit from CJP where he pointed out failures of other pillars.

But…what will happen now;

PMLN supporters: Being in defensive mode will say; since this statement does hit our incumbency spanning over 30 years or so and it did not include criticism on Judiciary therefore CJP cannot comment on it and status quo should continue and with current systems a new and pure system will magically evolve one day - So all who - whether they believe in this should keep on sleeping & dreaming.

Politicians have failed Pakistan: CJP - The Express Tribune

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

Politicians are responsible but less than Establishment , bureaucracy and judiciary

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

There is no yardstick or barometer to determine each pillar's exact percentage.

But I have been "told" that since 2008 Pakistan has the most honest Democracy and elections of 2013 were better than those in 2008 and every sector that is under political Govt., (except Foreign Affairs) has improved 1000's of times.

Sectors improved in last 8 years of Jamhooriyat include:

  1. Health
  2. Education
  3. Energy
  4. Justice
  5. Revenue
  6. FBR
  7. Financial Institutions
  8. FIA
  9. Police
  10. Communications
  11. And the list goes on and on

The Departments that have deteriorated are as follows:
1. Foreign Affairs relating to China, India, Afghanistan, and US as supposedly these are looked after by Army
2. Internal Security - Army Operations wherever it is happening.

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

There is enough blame to go around to all branches of Public Office, unfortunately. Police can't catch the bad guys because they're connected, and if somehow the arrested person ends up in court then the case can either drag on for years even if he/she is innocent, or it can be dismissed very quickly despite being guilty because of connections. It's the same story.

Fear of accountability needs to be present upon all Public Officials, but neither of the branches wants to be the first to get vetted so that they can then become the ones holding others to account. If we had an honest, and patriotic parliament, then the connections to criminal elements may suspend thereby allowing police to do their job, and because the politicians can hold other public officials to task, it would have a trickle down effect to other branches.

And so on, and so forth....

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

There is a scale , Ruled half of the way directly so hundred percent responsible for that
Taking 50% share almost so 50% responsibility of that period .
So almost 75 % responsibility goes to 12 pass

aik 12 pass darhaqeeqat security guard say ooper kay kisi kam ka capable naheen hota lekun yahan woh bandooq kay zor par 200 million ki qismat ka faisla kar raha hota hay

aur un say low mentality kay log unki support kar rahay hotay hain

aah meray Pakistan

Kin jahilon main phans gaya

Do lafz Angrazi kay jan kar khud ko Allama Mashriqi samajhtay hain .

200 million - 69 years - numerous failures.

And only Aqal e Qul in almost 7 Billion sitting here and sharing his vision about mathematical formula to determine the share in blunders / failures.

Please someone tell N$ about him!

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

Absolutely - but why would beneficiaries of any rotten system change when the beneficiary knows that if it's (system) gets better the kingdom style rule will not be possible and personalities like N$ and Zardari's will be accountable.

Do you think these types of clans would want to create such systems - never ever this will happen in Pakistan!

A common man will always live like he had been living for last 69 years, and rulers will live like this forever until and unless complete overhaul is carried out.

Any positive change within current systems is impossible!

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

and that's why the military never backed any change in the system. Their Kindom style rule will not be possible in a true democracy.

You won't hold your own agents responsible, would you?

I have an idea for a better system. Lets kill the politicians we don't like and issue NRO for others.

Lets overhaul the system. Lets force military back into barracks and ask them to stop nurturing and backing corrupt politicians. That would be the first positive change.

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

Your view can be summarized as follows;

Everything bad is because of Army - correct?

What about other Dept's that I mentioned above- do they have anything to do with Army?

Do you think, Army stops politicians to :
Build schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, generate power/energy, build infrastructure, have independent judiciary, have honest bureaucracy, have honest FBR, FIA, Police and Income Tax, Customs?

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

Everything wrong with the above departments could have been corrected in Military's overt and covert rule. They did not attempt to correct them, but rather encouraged corrupt judges and bureaucrats. No blame to military? At least accept half of it.

These departments did not go bad in last few years. It is the result of decades of misrule and mismanagement.

About the politicians... they are bad, but still raised and backed by military. No blame to military?

Military kidnaps professor from an elite university in Pakistan. Politicians, police, bureaucracy, judiciary cannot help the family. Who is ruling Pakistan?

Son of one of the current biggest assets of establishment? Grandson of the greatest asset establishment ever had? Great-grandson of General Ayub Khan? Yeah, right.

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

When PMLN opened direct fire on 100 people in front of TV cameras in broad day light and killed 20, neither politicians, police, judiciary, media, civil society could help the families - who is ruling Pakistan? I can give millions of such example - if the agenda is to just indulge in whataboutery and always find a third force to blame for everything.

I'm sorry but people like you and their civ-mil binary is responsible for dumbing down the democratic discourse in Pakistan that calls for accountability from politicians who boast about getting people's votes. It's such a good old sly tactic to shut down people from asking for something little more from politicians.

The quality of democracy and inflow of ideas cannot improve in Pakistan until people are trapped in self consuming civil-military pointing scoring battle. The debate needs to move forward.

Firing at Model Town was well planned and part of a 'script'
Just a conspiracy against All Shareefs and democracy
IL & TuQ are responsible for this blood along with hidden men

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

**
Rich & Powerful (and generally corrupt) Pakistanis are ruling Pakistan - with a complete disconnect from the general public. **

You perhaps hold Military responsible; I hold all that have ruled (read misruled) responsible for deterioration in every sector.

However, I believe that Zia and his legacy (not that any one could be proud of) administered steroids to decay the institutions.

I have stated it before, and stating it again; that I have seen, read, and *am in possession of number of blueprints of the plans for creating anarchy, institutionalizing corruption, and just enough destabilizing the country so brutal rule could be extended.
*

That, included so many things; from official smuggling through NLC, to giving kickbacks / bribes to any person in power, and then blackmailing him/her in future for ruler's benefits. Several of IGP's were given authority to act as " chief of hit squads " and out of court settling of scores were done by both; N$, Jam Sadiq, S$ and so many more. Then the same rulers bought Judges, and if Sajjad Ali Shah sold his soul, he would have been President instead of being attacked in Supreme Court by current ruling party. Ship breaking industry was not destroyed by Military, it was by a political man for his foundry. And there are a gazillions of things that one can write about.

All this was not orchestrated by Military; but because political leadership is always on sale; someone will obviously buy them.

It's just like going to a huge mall where everything is on sale; people do buy just because it's on sale not always because they want to buy.

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

The general consensus on this forum is that All ills that Pakistan in recent history are due to Military. OK - let’s discuss!

Based on above assumption, all ills are due to the people on the left side in the picture below and people on the right side were / are trying to work for betterment of Pakistan - please name a few of the PM’s with positive plans that did Pakistan any good.

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

AP do not constantly mislead janta here.

They may not be the most brilliant minds but they are 12 pass when they join the army. By the time they complete their 2-year training at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul etc. they are all graduates (= BA). Some of them go on PG training programmes at NDC, Islamabad or Command & Staff College, Quetta or even abroad (e.g. Sandhurst in England such as Ayub Khan and Asif Nawaz)

Kayani was dumb but he did have a masters in War Studies. Military ka banda ab apni field mein hi masters kare ga naa!!

Raja Riaz jaise 'paaaliticians' k bare mein aapki kya rai hai??

Re: Politicians Failed Pakistan - Again?!?

graduation in what ?
The training is purposeful to save the country at front and borders
The training and graduation only of a single skill
How to kill & how to escape .
I am surprised that still many looking to these 12 pass , destroying Pakistan many ways since 1948
Please if you wanted their respect , Ask them to be strict with their only job
To guard the borders
