PMS

OK, so many years ago, before I had my babies, I had typical PMS symptoms but since the babies, I think I’m no longer affected :hmmm: by them, Mr. and Mrs. Hormones.

So yeah, let’s talk about some remedies, treatments, gharelu nuskas, etc. to help ladies that experience PMS.

my best friend is "Kehwa"

boil water with cinnamon sticks, 2 or 3 cardamon and boil till the colour changes.
Dip green tea bag for about a minute and take it out. add sugar and wholaaa...

drinking hot beverage also helps....

Re: PMS

Diet plays a significant role in PMS. Certain foods, especially junk food, tends to aggravate PMS. I've noticed that when I eat healthier during days leading up to my period.....my PMS is not severe.....at times it seems like it's not there. I've also found that regularity in prayer, exercise, taking a multivitamin/iron supplement also make a considerable positive difference:)

Re: PMS

They say Evening Primrose Oil helps symptoms of PMS.
Healthy food yes, it helps...atleast trying to eat some fruit 5 a day or so.
Prayers/meditation...helps...infact relieves many many illnesses incl PMS.

Re: PMS

another reason to have babies :hmmm:

Re: PMS

Chocolate?

I second Redvelvet's comments, especially about diet. If I stay away from chocolate, refined sugar, fried foods, and caffeine for the week or so prior, I rarely experience any cramps and my mood is much better! My skin stays more clear as well. It makes a very noticeable difference for me.

Re: PMS

some people prefer warm milk

Re: PMS

I've never gotten bad cramps or mood swings. But sometimes I take midol and it makes the day much more beautiful. One time I did get some cramps so I used heated pads, drank either tea or green tea and stayed away from junk food specially chocolate.

^ i second that.
it works for me...not sure about others tho.

Re: PMS

For me heating pads, and hot milk works great!

any remedy for crankiness??? :)

yoga!

i sometimes think PMS (not in terms of the pain but in terms of moodiness) is a psychological thing…mind over matter perhaps?

only kind of pms symptoms i feel is that i get sensitive (little things will make me cry…good or bad) and lovey dovey

Re: PMS

uff ... i cant get rid of the despression one day before the period .. I cry and cry and cry .. I have tried using tea's that might help calm the mood .. no good ...

Even people at work started noticing me..for all the wrong reasons ! i went to my doc and they said , I might have to take anti depressant for that day or few days every month ... but then friends told me not to .. one can get addicted to them ..

Any ideas ladies ? or nuskay ?

Re: PMS

^ eat chocolates!

Re: PMS

I missed my period last month can anyone tell me why that happened.

Pregnacy maybe :hmmm: … or stress could be a bigggg reason …

but do go to your doctor immediately … coz these things better be sorted properly and on time …

I have been undergoing something very strange actually … during the period , I feel so much closer to the religion, I want to pray , feel like doing nafals but obviously i cant since i am not pure… I think about the day of judgement, about repenting to Allah for all sins known and unknown …

In short , I feel like the muslim in me wakes up , i feel like faith has gotten renewed in me , I feel inclined towards remembering Allah

and then as soon as the period is over , I am back to my sinful human characteristics , Its a chore to pray and etc etc ..

is it because satan thinks , oh she cant pray anyway so lets focus on spreading evil somewhere else and leave her alone for a few days :hmmm:

or is it just the height of PMS

Tweety....you can skip a period due to several reasons....such as excessive stress, iron-deficiency anemia, and too much exercise.

A close friend of mine didn't get her period regularly and had frequent headaches. When she went to the doctor, a blood test revealed she was low in iron. So, the doctor prescribed iron tablets, which should be taken under the guidance of a doctor because they are pretty strong. Iron-deficiency anemia is a common problem in menstruating women....and it affects your periods.

Women athletes (who are runners in the Olympics, for example) lose their period because of extreme exercise.

So....take it easy, reduce your stress level (get plenty of sleep), and take an iron-containing multivitamin and see if that improves the situation. If you miss your period again, in spite of these changes in your routine, then please consult a doctor.

Re: PMS

thanx alot but i know that i'm definetly not pregnant because i'm not even married so how would i be pregnant.

Tweety,

U never mentioned if you were single or married and perhaps CB assumed you were married. You asked a question and since we didn't know the details, we tried to come up with a variety of possibilities. Don't worry, no accusations are being made.

As I suggested, just take an iron-containing multivitamin, eat healthy, reduce stress, get enough sleep, and InshaAllah ur cycle will be back on track again. If not, see a doctor. Best wishes.
