i think its because you know you *can’t *pray that all of a sudden you *want *to pray, but when you can, its like, meh, i can do it next time. i go through something similar sometimes… its very hard! but the idea is, once your period ends, do your best to maintain those thoughts and DO pray. make the effort; its worth it ![]()
also, you can say tasbeeh despite having your period- so when you feel that way and Aunty Flow is visiting, do that instead to ease your feelings!
Re: PMS
Is it normal if u miss ur period?
^ Yes, tweety, it's very normal to miss your period even if you're not pregnant. It has happened to me. Sometimes you might even have a period that's longer than a week.
My friend had irregular periods and when she went to the doctor, it was found through a blood test that she was low in iron. Iron deficiency (anemia) is a COMMON problem in menstruating women and it can affect your period. That's why it's good to take an iron containing multi-vitamin. STRESS can mess up your cycle as well.
So, take a multivitamin, relax, get enough sleep, reduce stress, and see if that helps. After making these adjustments....if you STILL miss your next period, you need to consult a doctor. But inshaAllah a few lifestyle changes should be sufficient.
Is it normal if u miss ur period?
Tweety , Redvelvet has provided very accurate advise.
My GP always tells me that sometimes missing even one period can be the sign of some underlying problem , hence wait and extra week or two and if nothing happens , go to your doctor ... it could be just plain anemia but its always better to get the reasons checked ...

Out of curiosity, and sort of not on the exact same topic, but did anyone find that their periods became heavier after giving birth and never went back to "previous levels"?
Re: PMS
.. and please can someone tell me whats the relation between chocolate and PMS …
…
Re: PMS
Hey CB!
Many women crave chocolate during PMS. One theory is that women are low in magnesium during PMS....and crave chocolate because it contains magnesium. Another theory is that during PMS, seratonin levels (the chemical that prevents depression) is low....and sugary foods like chocolate help to elevate seratonin levles thereby uplifting the mood. Also, it is recommended to eat a healthy and nutritious diet because junkfood aggravates PMS symptoms (mood swings, cramps, etc.)
Re: PMS
i've never had cramps..i don't even know what the feel like (mA..not to nazar myself) but i find myself to be very emotional whenever i'm on my period. i feel like crying and do cry for no reason.. like i'll be extremely emotional even if my mom asks me clean the house strictly. i wish i could get rid of the weird moods somehow.
Thanks RV , that was a detailed reply , and surely gives me all the reasons to eat chocolate … Chocolate mud cake , here i come .. ![]()
Re: PMS
Chocolate is a popular choice of food around this time because of the 'feel good factor'...it is rich in carbohydrates, which increase the rate with which tryptophan enters the brain.... this increases the level of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates moods, creating a good feeling.....but the elevation in mood is temporary and when this effect wears off, a person will revert to their previous state of mind.... or neurosis ;)
Re: PMS
All this talk of chocolate...
Just when I really want chocolate and its 11.15 at nite and there is no chocolate to be found in any corner of the house...
Re: PMS
I missed my period last month can anyone tell me why that happened.
Thats kinda normal too, it could be a hormonal imbalance, stress, one month is not THAT big of a deal. But if you're worried abt it, go get it checked out
Re: PMS
hey girls in another thread i remember reading abt a home remedy posted for getting your periods (if you missed themor maybe to regulate them) only thing i remember frm the remedy is that it had Milk and something else mixed in it...to drink.

Re: PMS
Rabia,
It is believed that taking calcium (glass of milk, yogurt, etc) naturally helps to relieve menstrual cramps. So, you can just drink a plain glass of milk.
Ginger also helps to relieve cramps. So you try adding sliced ginger to the milk.
And I once heard a remedy involving milk and haldi (turmeric) for menstrual cramps, but I don’t remember it exactly.
Also, try the gs link below. If you go to the last page of the thread, you’ll find some milk remedies for period pain.

Re: PMS
Evening Pimrose oil in its pure form or its capsules (Whole Foods in USA carries the vegetarian non gelatin kind) is the best for PMS even the moodiness.
