Mashallah. A good decision by PML (N). Why does PPP not follow suit and refuse to take oath from the alleged illegal President?

**PML-N not to be part of federal cabinet: Nisar **

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday made it clear that it would become a part of the government at the Centre and would extend unconditional support to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in formation of the government, however, showed reservations to become a part of the federal cabinet.

**“We will not become a part of the federal cabinet as to become a member of the cabinet, one has to take oath from Pervez Musharraf,” central leader of the PML-N Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said while addressing a news conference here at the party’s secretariat. **

Chaudhry Nisar said there was no change in the PML-N stance that Pervez Musharraf was an unconstitutional president. “How can we take oath from an unconstitutional president,” he questioned.

Chaudhry Nisar, who is also a close aide of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, recalled that it would be for the first time in the country’s political history that a party would not demand share in the cabinet in a coalition government. " Our support to the PPP in the formation of government at the Centre is unconditional and our only demand is the restoration of the judiciary as it was on November 2, 2007," he maintained. Asked whether the PML-N would accept the offer for the NA speaker slot, he replied that he was talking about only not to join the federal cabinet.

“We do not want any conflicts on power-sharing for the sake of national interests,” he said. To a question, Chaudhry Nisar said the PML-N, however, would not impose its agenda on the PPP and would give it free hand for first six months. However, he maintained that the PML-N parliamentarians would take oath under the 1973 Constitution as it was on October 12, 1999. " Let it be matter on record that we will take oath under the 1973 Constitution," he said. Nisar said they had also reached a written understanding with the PPP on the restoration of the judiciary and a procedure in this connection had been agreed to which would be revealed on the formation of parliament.

To a question, he rejected an impression that the main focus of the PML-N in talks with the PPP was Pervez Musharraf, saying they were wasting time to discuss this issue. " Musharraf is not a focus of our consultations and our one-point agenda is how to reinstate the sacked judges," he said.

Nisar pointed out that it would be up to the restored judiciary to give its verdict on qualification of Musharraf as president of Pakistan." “We will accept Musharraf as president only when the restored judiciary declares him to be qualified as president,” he said.

About the MQM joining the governments at the Centre and in Sindh, he said the PML-N leadership had conveyed its serious reservations to the PPP on the MQM in this connection but would not create any obstacles for the PPP leadership in formation of governments with the inclusion of Altaf Hussain-led party in this regard. He accused President Musharraf of still interfering in the affairs of Pakistan Army as he was still occupying the Army House even after his retirement as the Army chief. " It is high time for Musharraf to resign, stop interfering in Army’s affairs and leave the Army House," the PML-N leader demanded.

He also condemned killing of Surgeon-General Pakistan Army, Lt General Mushtaq in a suicide attack on Monday. " Musharraf is killing all innocent people who fell victim to war on terror," he said. Chaudhry Nisar stressed that the United States would have to reconsider its guns and mortars policy against terrorism as it had failed to yield results.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

You will, his name is General Dictator Musharraf.

In case you haven't noticed, the peope of Pakistan have spoken. They clearly belive Mush's rule is more corrupt, and ineffective than NS.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

Ok name same of the factories and foundaries that Musharraf has made for himself?? Get ready for the game of Swiss Accounts, Surrey Palaces, Sugar Factories and Ittefaq Foundries looting country's resources into their own pockets.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

Just like Zia this will come out once he is out of office, when he is unable to kill and shut down media stations that report agianst him.

Recent scandal include Steel Mills, KESC, and more. Transparency International report showed majority of people believe corruption has gone UP since 99.

With Mush choosing the most corrupt politcians in history as his partners, Chaudry Shujaat, Liaqut Jatoi, ALtaf Hussain, this is not surprising.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

As you have no evidence so it is all speculation.

^^ What evidence do you need? Here is an example of one crook covering for another.

Pak govt terminates graft cases against Zardari

ISLAMABAD: With President Pervez Musharraf’s fate hanging in balance, Pakistan government on Wednesday terminated graft cases against PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari shortly after the apex court dismissed three petitions challenging a controversial order granting amnesty to PPP leaders in corruption cases.

The National Accountability Bureau, the anti-corruption body, terminated cases against Zardari and Rehman Malik, the security advisor of slain PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto, immediately after the Supreme Court gave its ruling on Wednesday morning.

NAB’s deputy prosecutor general Zulfiqar Bhutta said the agency had initially given directions for the termination of cases after Musharraf issued the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) in October last year.

But several anti-corruption courts had refused to stop hearing cases against Bhutto, Zardari and others after the NRO was challenged in the apex court, which also issued a stay on all benefits granted under the law, Bhutta said.

Following Wednesday’s order from the Supreme Court, the cases were finally terminated, he said.

Bhutto’s name was removed as an accused from cases being heard by anti-corruption courts following her assassination in December.

A five-member bench headed by Chief Justice Abdul Hameed dismissed petitions filed by Jamaat-e-Islami chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed, PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif and an advocate challenging the constitutional validity of the NRO.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

So you are saying that these elections are engineered. … Zardaris…NS…Chaudharies are of the same lot.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

Whether we like them or not, PPP and PML-N got the most seats in the new parliament. Obviously the people of Pakistan like them well enough to vote for them. So there is no point in writing gaaliyaN (swearing and cursing) and keep refering to the old corruption cases to vomit our distaste for these people. Let them form a government and see how they do the governance. Keep your opinions on topic so they are useful and relevant.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

All I am saying is had Mush been selfless and sincere with the country and had it not been for his NRO, these same corrupt people would not have returned to politics and yes Chaudharies should also have been one of the first people to be barred form politics in 1999. I would say these 9th fail chaudharies are even worse and perhaps more corrupt than NS (who is atleast a graduate albeit from some average institute). Have you ever seen them speak?utterly unimpressive and ghaamar. These goons and paindoos just got lucky. Even many slightly more educated people (intermediate and plain BA pass from a third rate institute) are working as PA (personal assistant), PS (personal sec.) or even peons in various government departments.

And no I don’t think the elections are engineered. There was obviously some rigging at certain polling stations but perhaps rigging on such a small scale is unavoidable and happens even in Western societies. I would say they were 90% fair.

‘Only Musharraf is the exalted one, everyone else is a crook right?’

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

Spot on!
At Zias time we had also calls of unpredicated growth of economy, after he had disappeared we knew the real story. Money flowing into the country (financial aid) made all this possible. Jab gaya logon ne gaaliya nikali.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

Come'on ....are you serious??...NS (who is atleast a graduate albeit from some average institute). ?? What is all that? He is as jahil as the other tola as you don't have to be just illetrate to be corrupt.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

Oh yes we are waiting for that..... We are such hopeful people.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

^Democracy and political governmen how week it is, is 1 million times better than dictatorship. Dictatorship means choron aur uchakon ki hukumat with no accoutability.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

**Nawaz Sharif was educated at Saint Anthony’s High School and Government College Lahore, and received a law degree from **University of the Punjab](University of the Punjab - Wikipedia)
Nawaz Sharif - Wikipedia

So NS is a graduate. Personally I don’t think much of Punjab University. The standard was good in the 50s and 60s but these days it’s just a mediocre institute.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

So democratic dacoits are much better then thieves.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

Shujaat Hussain graduated from Forman Christian College, University of the Punjab, Lahore in 1967.

Asif Zardari did most of his schooling at St Patrick’s School, Karachi.
Does these facts make these guys qualified???

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

:rotfl: someone is still bitter about PML-Q losing.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

Only if we can support strong institutions and not strong persons.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

I never said there was a link between one’s level of education and corrupt tendencies but the people holding the highest offices in the land (President, PM, Senate Chairman, National Assembly Speaker etc.) should atleast have had good schooling (because it shows in how they conduct themselves in public) and be graduates of a reputable institute. Thats all.

Re: PML- Nawaz not to be part of federal cabinet‏

Well I cannot agree with It totally. Yes It has not the same standard like It once used to have. But It is still one of the top Unis in Pak.

HEC (Higher Education Comission) has released a national ranking and you will find Universty of the Punjab on second place:
