ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf’s son-in-law Raja Azeemul Haq is being appointed as Executive Director of the World Bank when the tenure of another Pakistani Javed Talat ends, a news report said.
The appointing authority of the post is the prime minister.
Some finance ministry officials termed the move wrong and said everybody should be given an equal chance and appointments should be made in accordance with the system.
The report said a formal summary was moved by Economic Affairs Division to Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh about one month back. The finance minister would talk to the premier and convey his point of view on the issue.
Until a few years back Haq was serving in grade 18 in the Income Tax Group but was first hired by Employees Old-age Benefit Institution in grade 20 and soon after his Ashraf’s elevation as premier, he too was promoted in his Secretariat to a grade 21 post.
The post of executive director is considered crucial as he represents seven countries in the World Bank’s executive board where multibillion dollar projects are approved annually.
bhai sahib woh merit pe hee appoint howa hai. Question tha Zardari ko kitna commission de saktay hayn aap, son-in-law replied with highest number, so he was appointed on merit
aray yaar...son in law...does not get the nod becuase he has merit
but because he has married..
That or on another serious note, perhaps merit is redefined as being son in law!
Mehnat say kia milta hay

Kindly do not derail the topic by putting your filth here. May I, as a member of this site, remind you that this thread is about PPP's prime minister appointing his son in law. Stick to the topic.
Right now the biggest chance is already availed in Pakistan by PPP's represented Pakistani PM. So, wake up and smell the coffee!
What is wrong with this? He looking after his family interest just like everyone here criticizing him here would do. This is how things work in Pakistan.

^^No, I was being serious. If the system is corrupt you can't just blame just one person for corruption problems. That is why system should be merit based. Otherwise, he did nothing wrong unless you can prove it.
