PM Gilani to be indicted on Feb 13 in contempt case
ISLAMABAD: The seven-member larger bench of the Supreme Court (SC) hearing Prime Minister Gilani’s contempt case has ordered that the prime minister has committed contempt and summoned him on February 13,
The SC issued the order after defence counsel barrister Aitzaz Ahsan concluded his arguments.
The Supreme Court will indict PM Gilani when he appears before the court on February 13.
Defence Counsel barrister Aitzaz Ahsan has completed his arguments. He contended that the prime minister acted on the advice of ministry in accordance with rules of business.
**Speaking to the media outside the apex court, Ahsan said that the government could file an appeal in the case. **
The bench comprising Justice Nasirul Mulk, Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Athar Saeed is hearing the show cause notice served upon the Prime Minister in National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) implementation issue.

I have feeling that generals are pulling strings from behind the scene of this puppet show.
I don't think this is a puppet show or the generals are pulling the strings. PM has been treating the court ruling with contempt for a long time and now the chickens have come home to roost. Hope they indict him to send a message that no one is above the law including the corrupt and incompetent PM.

On 13[SUP]th[/SUP] Gillani should appear in court and tell the judges that he did what he learned from imminent judges of SC, that is: When reference was sent to SJC by President against CJ Iftikhar in 2007, SC judges stood behind their chief and stopped SJC from investigating their (corrupt) chief. In same way, when SC wanted his government to write letter to Swiss courts to open closed cases (against his chief), he stood behind his chief and stopped that letter to Swiss authority against his (corrupt) chief.
Anyhow, I think Atezaz did not handle the case appropriately. I believe this case could have got conducted much better with some intelligent thinking and appropriate preparations, taking different line in argument, and especially without obvious lying (what Atezaz did throughout the proceedings claiming that all what happened was unintentional).
Obvious lying by Atezaz must have infuriated the judges, as it was making fun of judges’ intellect.

If Gillani resigns and PPP gets a new PM, say somebody like Raza Rabbani, Aitzaz Ahsan or Makhdoom Amen Fahim and the new PM take some good short-term decisions... like ending the load-shedding or reducing it to 2 hours a day in city and 5 hours day in rural areas, reducing the petroleum prices ( which has seen biggest increase in this month only) and then showing up in public means jalsas and something like that... there you go, people will forget what Zardari have done to them in last 4 years, they will blame gillani for everything and will say that it was he who did all the bad things now the new PM is going to fix everything.. would be a great move by Zardari..

^^^ is idiot … it is because of him PM is today guilty of court contempt. Even a person like me, who is not even lawyer, could have conducted PM case much better in SC then him.
Just imagine, atezaz told court that ‘judges of SC gave an order to PM that he writes a letter to Swiss authority restarting case’, but PM valued suggestion of 4 people telling him that writing letter is useless, so PM took SC order as ‘rubbish written on toilet paper’ and thus flushed it in toilet. … Now, after that, Atetaz expected that judges would say to him that … how good prime minister did with their order.

for people the culprit (Gillani) is punished, electricity is restored, petroleum prices are in decline !!! and most of all they really have real short memory and they have lots of sympathy with then one who suffers, never mind if the suffering comes as a result of his ill-doings...
Iam not saying this is going to happen, but with Zardari in presidential palace, he will do whatever it takes... and it is not more 4 months it is about 8-10 months

its not only this case, its with regards to different cases over a period of time. Look the conduct of the government in NICL case, and how they got Moonis Illahi freed for example as Qatil League joined them in the center.

You should have told this to PM earlier, now it is too late!!! anyway, who else is idiot?? (i know the answer all of them) so let me re-phrase the question, whoelse is not idiot??? ( i know the answer of this as well, The great brave general Mushy ) PM Gillani should had Mushy as his lawyer or atleast have taken the steps Mushy took against Judiciary i.e. Fire all judges...!!!
