**this is a good step forward. this is a private enterprise. let’s hope they’ll do a better job of running railways. this should also extend to general public in the form of affordable, reliable and dependable service. Good Luck PR!
btw, one way Lahore to Karachi trip will cost passengers Rs 5000 and it’ll take 15 hours. it’s a fully air-conditioned train.**

115 hours? are they going to Karachi via Russia and North Pole?

I was wondering the same thing. 115 hours? I rather pay 5 more and travel via Air Blue. :/
**oops! 15 hours rather...i've single-handedly reduced the amout of travel time...lol...thanx for the correction :)
Re: PM Gilani inaugurates Pakistan's first business train...a private enterprise!
I dont know if someone really thought through the business justification of such venture. If I am a business person, why would I waste 15 hours to travel some 900 KM. I would take a flight.

Exactly,I heard PIA introduced some new packages for Karachi-Lahore at low rates probably 6k-7k
Re: PM Gilani inaugurates Pakistan's first business train...a private enterprise!
**it's called business express but that doesn't mean it's entirely for business people. ordinary folks will travel in comparatively more comfort and be assured of some kinda on-time performance. i believe airfares are much higher. these trains travel overnight so this would give the businessmen all day to do business at their destinations. if the train leaves Lahore at 5 pm then it would arrive in Karachi at 8 am the next morning...do their business and make a return trip leaving Karachi at 5 pm back to Lahore at 8 am. the businessmen will arrive 'all fresh' to start their day! :)
that makes some business sense to me because it will be downtown to downtown service thus avoiding unnecessary hustling at the airports.**
Re: PM Gilani inaugurates Pakistan's first business train...a private enterprise!
5000 is not a small amount for a one way trip (consider a small family of 4) the return trip will cost Rs 40000.
******yeah, but i was comparing to the airfare. i think the lowest fare on PIA is Rs 17,555 per person. the trip on Pakistan Railway in AC class costs over 4000 Rupee and besides the the service is not dependable, not reliable and not worth the cost. agree?
Rs 5000 for a businessman isn't a lot of money :)

Yes as compared to 17500 its cheap, lets see how it goes!
Re: PM Gilani inaugurates Pakistan's first business train...a private enterprise!
It looks good though! .. seems like only private sector is booming in Pakistan
**nice pictures...thanx...yeah, let's hope they will keep it that way and try to improves service both on-board and frequency. :)
Re: PM Gilani inaugurates Pakistan's first business train...a private enterprise!
Congrats to all. may be it should be called a luxury train instead of business train.
BTW it came right on time for PPP. now they have some thing to brag about in upcoming elections. they knew they were gonna get a lot of crap about railways.
