ok so i need advantages of living there bearing in mind my husband and his family are well-off and all edcuated to high standards.my uncle the other day was bashing pakistan and how mad we were to live there, hes very anti-paki, yet hes marrying his daughter to a pakistani from paksitan next year..and he willingly set up a business there…yet he HATES pakistan…and was telling me im mad to go…

I rather live in Pakistan as an educated middle class well off person than live in the ghetto areas of Britain with low income and working class tag. Obviously I'll pick UK with the former option without a second thought.

In Pakistan, you can live in a Baverlly Hills style mansion (I can only speak for places Lahore Karachi and Islamabad) instead living in pigeon holes that we call family home in UK.

You can easily hire and afford a driver, maid and cook in Pakistan.

I was joking but I know you’re worried so think of it this way:

Your family is well off there…meaning they can afford the day to day things people need to lead a comfortable life. I think you’ll find yourself with much more help to raise your baby too.

Judging from your previous discussions, I dont think it will be a bad move for you Nadz. Your husband has more opportunity there so go there. Go where you can build a home because at the end of the day, that is far more important.

It will be hard to leave your family but they’re okay. You never know what the future holds. Maybe you guys can save up and start a business in the UK and come back someday. Dont lose hope…:hugz:

You'd be better off financially in Pakistan. However, if you're unable to cope with the various changes, it may take a toll on your health.

Take a chance. Be brave. Conquer the world kid. You can always come back : )

Lol the funny thing is, all the people listing the advantages of living in Pakistan will never dare to contemplate the thought of them moving back there. HA! The hypocrisy i love it. :D

You have lot of help as in servants, etc. My parents hated the riswat/corruption aspect of Pakistan.
If you are from a well off family, you wont have much issues, the elites live quite a luxurious life in Pakistan.

everything may be good except the fear of being blown up into pieces...the fear itself will ruin all the luxuries in life. i wudn't live there.

first of all, you will be treated like a queen compare to here.
tons of ppl i know in pakistan have maids for their kids, who are hired only to play with their child so the mother can relex, watch tv, talk to friends on phone, and not run behind their kids all the time. those maids are usually young girls, who are really really happy to be babysitting your kids in presence of you and your family because that work is a lot less hard on them compare to washing dishes or cleaning.
you will not be washing your own cloths, or will need to iron them, because there are plenty of maids for that. at my cousin's house in pakistan this one women charges like 2Rs. to iron one piece of fabric, so when i was there i never had to iron my own cloths which was pretty cool.
you will never be cleaning your own house. a maid will do it for you. from emptying your trash can to scrubbing your toilet bowl, everything will be done to you.
you will hardly cook for your self. you will get up in the morning go to dinning room, and order the maid to bring you food.
you will be going to shopping sprees and buying gorgeous cloths, shoes, and accessories, at fraction of the cost compare to here.
your daughter will have a lot more family to hang around.
yes there is electricity problem, but everyone have a ups, or generator.
cell phone rates are dirt cheap, you will always be in contact with your family in canada/america/uk (i am not sure where you are from)

so yeh, all those things i said above are based on understanding that your family in pakistan are quite well off. all the above experience that i have from my family which isn't even that well off....so you probably will get a lot more than that.

Also u mentioned ur husband wanted u to wear hijab or dupatta and u weren't that keen back then.. obviously u will feel more at ease covering ur head over there and if u want ur daughter(s) to grow up wearing it it might be easier in that environment..

i forgot one very important advantage.
your daughter will grow up a lot more confident, where she wouldn't be confused by living her day to day life (school/college) with people who have different approach to life, than what she is being taught at home.

no offense to anyone, but i have noticed that the kids who have grown up in america, might be very good education vise, but personality vise they don't seem as strong. that is just a personal opinion, please don't kill me for saying it.
