Please help my father in this critical situation!

Re: Please help my father in this critical situation!

Saima: If your story is true than it's really sad and my prayers are with you and with your father at this difficult time.

But you have to win our trust so that we can help you, i don't mind helping you and i would love to do so but 1st you wil have to win my trust. The story you have posted seems to be a bit fishy, and as others are saying you will have to prove here you are right and not a con artist....:)

SID_NY: Thanks for taking the time to help us out and ofcourse saima. If you can personally go and see her & her father than we will all appreciate it and it will surely clear our doubts. May Allah reward you for this. Ameen

Re: Please help my father in this critical situation!

Thanks SID_NY for updating everyone on our conversation. I totally understand that I need to give proof of everything that I am saying. SID_NY , If it is possible for you at all to come visit my dad in NJ, I think no more proof would be needed after that. I also recieved another call from someone from this forum, not sure what the screen name is but he lives in NJ. If you are reading this post, please let me know if its possible at all for you or someone you know who can visit my dad, since it might be easier being in NJ yourself. As far as Government aids and benefits the following is what I have found out from everywhere.

Social Security Disability benefits :- this is for people who have worked atleast 40 quarters (10 years) in the US. My dad only came 3 years ago so have only worked 2 and half years.

Social Security Income (SSI) :- is for people who have been a legal permanant resident of US for atleast five years. In my dad's case its only been three years.

Medicare: - Also for people who have worked atleast 40 quarters (10 years) in the US.

Medicaid - Also for people who have been a legal permanant resident of US for atleast five years.

NJ Family Care - Almost free health insurance for parents with minor kids. Doesn't apply to my dad.

Charity Care :- is only for inpatient hospital use or emergencies.

There are a lot of other programs through Office of Temporary Assistance in NJ that are ALL associated with Medicaid recepients. If someone doesn't qualifies for Medicaid, they wont qualify for any other programs.

The only thing that my dad is qualified for and is getting is something called Temporary Disability Benefits whihc is a requirement for all the employers to provide. So he is getting that through his employer. Benefits are that he will receive 60% of the salary every month for six months total. We are using that money right now to pay some of the medical bills. Benefits will expire in May 2009 and then he wont be getting anything from anywhere. He still has insurance through employer because he hasn't quit yet. His leave of absence is expiring in May as well and after that he wont have health insurance through employer either. We will have to purchase private insurance for him and its costing $650 per month and it still wont give us benefit for a home health aid. In order to get a home health aid to come and help my Mom take care of him, WE HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET, and this is the reason I am trying ot raise money for that purpose. Also, he desperately needs physical therapy because he has regained some movement in his legs and the therapists are confident that there is a slight chance of him walking again if he works really really hard in therapy. Insyrance is only giving six sessions of therapy in total and after that we will have to pay FOR THAT OUT OF POCKET AS WELL. $150 FOR ONE HOUR OF THERAPY EVERY DAY. If we dont continue his therapy, he will lose the ability and we will lose hope of him eventually getting better. I dont want to take away that chance from him.

Guys, I have put my heart out and explained every single thing that's going on right now. If someone seeing him in this condition with his own eyes is what it takes to convince everyone to agree to help, then please I request that someone takes the time out and do me and my dad this huge favor of coming and meeting with him personally. We can even meet at the physical therapy place, Kessler Rehab in NJ that way his current physical disabilities will be obvious.

Thanks
