my son is 3 months now and i m worried abt his addmissions and stuff
please help me understand what comes first and later
kindergarten,nursery,play group, Montessori
and if u can give me idea which is best for wat ???
i m going for Mrs.Ahmed and KGS how are they??

i don know from where u are,im in ksa..here first step is playgroup then LKG(lower) then UKG(upper)then comes the reception,and then class 1 starts and so on...for my first child she was 3 i sdmitted her in play school so she could be ready for teh school....after some months later i took her to the school they took her test,my daughter was good they admmitted her straight to UKG,now she's in reception.....for my son i directly took him to the school they took him in LKG he's doing great their(they also took his test first)....now he's doing well

^ Khawa in some schools in Karachi you have to get registered at the time of pregnancy so if your baby is already born you are late :D Most of the schools take admission in 2 years and would start the session after 7-8 months .....like my daughter got admission now and will start after 6-7 months or so insha allah !

pre-nursery
nursery
kindergarten
class/grade 1 and so on
KGS is good infact the best but they take at 4 years of age in Nursery they don't have pre-nursery.
Have never heard about Mrs. Ahmen but Asma's montessori , Mrs. Haque's , Kids & Co , Leena and some other good Montessoris are there that prepare ur child for schools like KGS. if you want I can send u details just PM the area in which you reside and are comfortable sending your kid.

Which school ur kids are going to? Is it an islamic school?? My daughter is two years old nd im looking a school for her.

Agreed!!! But then again, us North Americans are pretty paindoo in this regard....My kids didn't step foot in a school until they were 4-5 yrs of age.....

Well our son started going to pre-school (http://www.lapetite.com) twice a day when he became 3 years old just to feel the water but 3 months is just too young for anything like that other than day care of course.

^ I dont think she is sending her baby to school or a daycare, she is just thinking if she needs to do anything right now.
I suppose KGS means Karachi Grammar school ... I have a friend in Karachi who told me that she was too late when she tried for her daughter's admission at age 3 I think. The school already had a waiting list and she could not get her daughter admitted in that school.

Ammar went to a private 2 day a week pre-k program called “discovery kids” when he was 4 yrs old (10am -2pm) , and the twins got into a pre-k program at the public school at the age of 4 also because being preemies, they were already enrolled in the ECI (early chilhood intervention) program because Jibran had speech development delays…but ages 2-3, I had them at home with me…even thinking about applying to schools at the age of 3 months is ridiculous to me. Here in Texas, age 5 is the official start to public school. You have to be 5 yrs old by Sept 1st, to be able to enroll your child in kindergarten at a public school. And it is not legally necessary to send your child to KG. Because of funding cuts, more and more schools are cutting back on their Pre-K programs too…
I know it is becoming more and more common to start worrying about schooling before the kid is even born, I hear this all the time from my cousins in Karachi, and friends here too in the US who are trying to get their kids into competative private schools…I think kids, especially babies, should be allowed to be kids for as long as possible…just my opinion…

^ nothing wrong with being prepared ahead of time!
i had to register the kidlet for daycare a few months prior to the baby's birth. most of the good daycares in my area that offer infant childcare (not too many offer this, most start at 2 years, but mat leave is only 1 year in ontario) have year-long waiting lists at the minimum. as well, preference is usually given to siblings of current attendees which makes it even harder to get your first kid in.

I think by Mrs. Ahmed you mean Bayview school? Its a good school, you can't go wrong.
