Re: Please educate me

depends on what school of thought you want to believe in.

If you believe in Christianity (I think Islam also adopted same genesis from them) then adam was the first man and eve was the first woman. I personally cannot accept this because it means that all of humankind is inbred and based on incestual relationships right upfront!

If you like the Darwin school, there ws no such thing - humans evolved from apes

If you believe in the Hindu philosophy I think all worlds, Gods and lives and things sprang from the Mahapurush and they all get gobbled backup cyclically; then a new Brahma creates new worlds and lives...and so it goes on.

sri Vishnu's avtars are very intriguing - if you look at the sequence of the 10 main avtars:

Mathsya - water bound animal
Koorma - amphibious animal
Varaha - land based animal
Sri Nrsimha - half animal half human
Vamana - tiny human, Brahmin characteristics
Parasurama - Brahmin acquiring Kshatria like warrior qualities, including anger
Sri Rama - Kshatriya by birth but demonstrating humility, like a Brahmin
Sri Krishna - Yadava; showing how tactics have to adopt to time & yuga dharma
Bhuddha - Kshatriya renouncing kingdom and showing Dharma includes love
Kalki - Yet to occur; Will be the destroyer of evil when it overpowers creation

Note that some people consider Sri Balrama as an avtar before Sri Krishna and do not count Bhuddha as one.

Also that the Yugadharmas are supposed the define human ethics; Before Sri Rama it was Sathya Yug where all was pure and good always won over evil. Sri Rama was in the ThrethaYug where good ultimately triumphed after momentary aberrations; Sri Krishna was in the DwaparaYug when different tactics had to be adopted in addition battles for good to triumph over evil. In Kaliyug ofcourse there will such evil that the creation will have to be destroyed and recreated.

Thus starting a all new cycle!

Isn't Hinduism so beautiful logical and interesting? That's why I love it
