Plastic surgery

Recently I’ve been coming across a lot of desi news regarding this … i didnt know it was so famous with our people and now being practiced at such a regular folk level … my sister also told me of two girls junior to her in school getting a nose job done … i mean girls under 17-18 years of age.

in my naive little world i thought it would not be happening in pakistan (for cosmetic purposes) … but apparently it is .. and quite a lot …

what is your take on cosmetic plastic surgery? have you done it? do you know someone who did it?

we can also talk about botox and other fillers ..

if i think of it .. it makes me feel a little embarrassed to one day walk with a new face in front of everyone and then answering everybody’s questions … especially with the type of society we live where you’d literally become the qurbani ki baqri (or ka baqra) … (in the sense of the hottest gossip topic)

Re: Plastic surgery

i know an old guppie who got a nose job done.. no joke. she was plenty hot even before that though..

Re: Plastic surgery

@queer whenever i read your posts in any thread .. i have to think thrice before deciding if it was a joke or not ...

Re: Plastic surgery

edit: on second thoughts.. probably not a good idea.. woops

Re: Plastic surgery

:hmmm:

Re: Plastic surgery

I know of a few western-born Pak girls who’ve had nose jobs done when they’ve gone ‘back home’ for holiday as well..

I’ve had surgery but I wouldn’t touch my face, that’s just my personal preference.. (and I’d prob be a bit too much of a wimp to let a scalpel or needle nr it anyway :D). Nearly all my friends have had botox, fillers and/or lip jobs and some are quite addicted to it..

A lot of ppl think that non-surgical procedures aren’t as drastic but with** too much** filler u can often end up with awful slit-like eyes like this:

(obviously Jenna has more to worry about than just her eyes)

Can’t see myself having anything done for the next few years apart from maybe lipo after I’ve had kids..

Re: Plastic surgery

^whenever i hv a reaction...my lips look exactly like that. exactly. hahahah (except they also hurt n itch n get dry and get discolored afterwards. :( )

Re: Plastic surgery

It's the remedy for insecure people mainly women.

Re: Plastic surgery

The lady on the left: Did she have a chest enlargement surgery done or head shrunken surgery done? I am so confused.

Re: Plastic surgery

^ Boob jobs and alleged eating disorder at the time (which she denied)..

She did have her implants taken out, dunno if she's had another set put in..

Re: Plastic surgery

go ‘back home’ to go under the knife!!! i dont know why i am saying this … but i’d be extremely skeptical of getting it done in pakistan. :S

is it wrong to cure your insecurities if it helps you lead a more confident life?

Re: Plastic surgery

Not always.. a girl with a AA or A-cup chest can have practical problems filling out clothes and at the other extreme those naturally v.heavy on top will often have back problems as a result..

And imo girls who have surgery for aesthetic reasons are no more insecure than most others.. u only have to look in F&B on this forum to see all the threads on 'how can I look more fair' or desi brides using foundation 4 shades too pale.. Just because cosmetic surgery isn't so common in our culture doesn't mean those who do it are any more 'insecure' than the average girl, just they are doing something to (often) permanently fix what it is that's bothering them..

Re: Plastic surgery

Boob jobs are such a turnoff. In fact, all cosmetic surgery is once you've watched Dr. 90210.

Re: Plastic surgery

^Confused much? You've described Katrina Kaif (nose job, lip job, facial fillers) as 'smoking hot' and Scarlett Johansson (nose job) as the 'the hottest woman alive' on here..

It's funny but most guys who have actually seen a pair in the flesh say the opposite as well.. Guys who often say they don't like fake boobs are often the ones who complain how droopy/saggy a naturally v.large pair looks next to a well-done 'enhanced' pair.. Each to their own tho..

Me too but tbh the results I've seen have been quite good and I think it's prob at least half the price they'd pay in the UK.. Not sure what the operating theatre and hygiene and stuff was like tho..

I was reading about some black girl from the UK who flew to America to have butt injections and died as a result. She was having the procedure done in her hotel room by a lady who injected god knows what in there.. A lot of trannys have injections of silicone and whatever else injected straight into them to save money and get the OTT look they're after.. Have heard of ppl having silicone injections instead of implants and then the liquid migrates all over the body

Re: Plastic surgery

im starting to think deeba might be dr. 90210..

Re: Plastic surgery

^It's just irritating hearing desis knocking cosmetic surgery when so many have an obsession with other ways of trying to improve or enhance themselves eg. skin whitening or using coloured contact lenses to pretend they were born with light eyes etc. How hypocritical can u get..

Re: Plastic surgery

lol oh im not saying cosmetic surgery is bad, just tickled at how much you seem to know about it. again, not in a bad way. :\

Re: Plastic surgery

^Sorry, I meant in general..

Re: Plastic surgery

Cosmetic sugery big no no…

I am amazed by surgery and scared at the same time… You know not so long ago you could die if the main artery was cut at the wrist behind the thumb or if the main artery on the inside of the thigh was somehow cut you would just bleed to death… or at best lost the whole limb.

These days surgeons can fix that up easy and that means a lot of people myself included are thankfull for it… but can plastic surgery serve a life saving purpose? If so then I am all for it…

But I think plastic surgery is a disaster for surgeons becuase instead of many doing the hard work and learning the great surgical skills modern medic students are tempted to pursue the money and specialise in cosmetic surgery… Yuck!

Re: Plastic surgery

totally agree with you there ... if people are ok with drastic appearance changes with harsh colored contacts and uber blond hair .. they should be ok with subtle p-surgeries that only slightly enhance your look ... not your race.
