Not my wedding as I am not yet married, but some money cutting ideas…

Cut out the pre-wedding parties like mehndi etc.

Wedding day - nikkah at the masjid followed by reception at a nice venue for close family and select friends.

Wedding dress - buy in the sales.

Make up and hair - do it yourself or get a trusted friend to do it.

Costume jewellery instead of gold.

Make the wedding cake yourself or get a friend who is good at baking to do it.

Flowers - buy from the markets (warning: you will need to be there around 4/5am to get the good stuff before it all sells out)

Wonderful ideas for a sweet simple wedding…i wish i could have mine like that.
