Yeah, I had that thought. Sometimes you can feel your heart pounding when you’re nervous/scared…imagine if they were two of them fiercely beating away. Or even two of them at different rhythms.
Also, think of romantic literature and art as we know it; it’s always depicted with one heart that beats an one heart to break or to steal. How do you factor in two hearts? Or a total of four hearts…if you count the two your SO has. Sounds odd doesn’t it? Not nearly as poetic.
