You are imagining two hearts in series. What if they work in parallel and independent of each other?

Then we would need some sort of a barrier to prevent blood crossing into ‘other’ heart’s territory and given the fact that we has some 60,000 miles of veins in our body, it would unnecessarily complicate things.
