Place to stay in New Jersey

Our family is coming to attend a wedding in new jersey, and we were looking for a house/apartment to rent. The dates are July 8 (tuesday) thru July 15 (tuesday). We would like to have a minimum of 2 beds and 2 baths. If anyone can kindly help, I will be very thankful. It could be located anywhere between Newark and Princeton, so about a 50 mile area.

I have already tried vacation rentals, but they tend to be located in tourist areas such as Atlantic city, which is quite far.

I dont think you can get a house/apartment for such a short amount of time only b/c newark/princeton isn't really much of a vacation spot. Theres a lot of hotels in newark though...so maybe you should try that?

Re: Place to stay in New Jersey

Yeah unless your in a touristy location, it would be difficult to rent a house/apt for such a short amound of time. I know near the coast...like Point pleasant/belmar etc....you can get like weekly rentals. Hmm.

Re: Place to stay in New Jersey

Oh and as its summer, the prices of a rental would be pretty high, so maybe you'd be better off with a hotel and maybe talk to a few, they may give you discount. Also try extended Stay hotels, that offer comforts like kitchenette, microwave/fridge...etc

Re: Place to stay in New Jersey

you should be able to get a sublease, a 2 bedroom apt easily around any campus area, rutgers or princeton

Thank you for all the replies. Hotel will be my last option if the rental thing doesn't work out. Spock bhai, thats exactly what I am looking for. Can you kindly help me in getting a sublease around the campus area? I am already trying craigslist.

Re: Place to stay in New Jersey

try Extended Stay America. they got weekly rentals plus kitchens.

Thanks once again to everyone who replied. Just to update you on what happened, I ended up getting 2 rooms at an all-suite hotel called Hyatt Place. The hotel itself and the rooms were awesome. Hotel was just beautiful with free breakfast. Very large rooms with 2 beds AND a living room with a sofa bed plus kitchenette in the room. The best part was the price: I got it for $39/night at priceline (I think the regular price was like $179 or so). So thank god, it worked out extremely well. Obviously, I won't tell you how many people actually stayed in each room :-)
