Pishwaz as a Valima Outfit

Pants and capri's have a very casual look, and aren't bridal but if u're bent on wearing one then please dont make the dupatta long or wear it on u're head...either do a complete contemp look or the very eastern look. Fusion is good for other events..but not a valima =)

Churidars and anarkali's look nice, so do hyderabadi jora's...

I think the same. There are some events in which traditional outfits looks more perfect than any other. If you are that reluctant by lehnga or anything of the type, go for saari, aor instead of capri, go for chori-daar pajama, because with apri LONG duppata over head won't look that good, anaarkali is really good option in the case.

Re: I need something different for Valima

go for an anarkali/pishwaz style probably with churi daar as everyone is saying....waisay a heavily worked shirt with dupatta n capris in pastel shades such as tea pink...gold wont look tht bad

Re: I need something different for Valima

I agree with Gina. Anarkalis are very beautiful, maybe go for that?

Re: I need something different for Valima

If you want to go that contemporary, just wear a dress. Otherwise if you want to wear capris or whatever, make sure the clothes are nicely embellished.
I personally wouldn't go with that look but hey! Its your wedding, do whatever makes you happy.

Work with the "theme" for the eastern look gharara's, sharara, lehnga all look nice with a heavy draped dupatta.

For the contemp look u can wear pants or capri's paired with a heavy embellished shirt (cud even be the front-open kind) but then leave the dupata off u're head..

yeahhh… i don’t agree with that - i mean, think about it, how many girls’ pics have we seen on their engagements who are wearing pants/capris but keep the dupatta on their heads? if anything on a valima, it works even more!

a pair of capris with lovely high heeled sandals and a long front open jacket on top of an inner sleeveless kameez would be great.
maybe also with long chaakein on either side and heavily embroidered all the way up along the chaakein and continuing under to the armpits (its a very Karma move, this one, and looks lovely), and perhaps a lighter dupatta, would look fabulous.
you could also do a higher collar… like these ones-

i really like this look, the middle one, i mean. what i want to do is make it fitted, keep the cut of the top as is and sleeveless, but convert it into a jacket with one button just under the chest. make it in a sheer ivory chiffon with a heavy border in very pale blue (maybe 3" wide). i want it with lots of sparkly clear swarovski and little pearls, and silver and dull gold thread kaam. and then under it, i’d wear a raw silk pale blue sleeveless tank top (also fitted) with slightly boot cut capri’s, maybe 3" above my ankles. and maybe a touch of kaam on the ends of the capris. i want it with a sweetheart neckline (high around the back of the neck and then regular in front). and then a lovely light ivory chiffon dupatta.
yeah i’ve thought about it a lot

and i know you said no lehengas, but this one is so unique, i thought i’d post it anyway

Re: I need something different for Valima

That last Fahad Hussayn lehngha is definitely sumptuous - I've had my eye on that one :)

wouldnt chuuridar pyjama look better on fahad hussayns dress ??? or is it just because the eyes didnt get use to looong shirt and lehnga...:S

Re: I need something different for Valima

thats a definite possiblity, twinkle! it would look gorgeous with a churidar too.

Re: I need something different for Valima

Long coat with churidaar or pant.

Angharka or peshwaaz or anarkali with churidaar would be nice too.

Please don’t quote… =)

and don’t complain abt the pic being blurry! I know it is grrr

Re: I need something different for Valima

i think uve mentioned the same thing in one of the forums on orkut …

how about this kind of thing got this pic from exclusive presents naina from face book

Re: I need something different for Valima

How about an anarkali/pishwaz kind of dress with churi dar pajama?

or how about like a gown kind of dress

Gina, is that you!

Yes, but the pics didn't turn out nice! The dress is GORGEOUS! It's olive with fuchia, turquoise, purple..and very delicate kaam.

Re: I need something different for Valima

^ the colours sound dreamy - was it a designer dress or something you designed for yourself?
