ok so i had my appointment with a lady doctor which was really nice & i felt really comfy... she basically said that a lot of girls end up being 'on' on their wedding day & obviously want to delay it... she prescribed me these norethisterone tablets...which i am meant to take 3 days b4 my due date (so for me that would be 5/8/08)... i have to take 3 pills a day (which is gona be the hard part) but the day i stop taking them 3 days later i should be 'on' again... problem for me is that i am going on honeymoon 4days after my valima, so obv i dont want to be 'on' then either so shes given me 30 tablets which should last a month, so inshallah il stop taking them wen im back...she said a lot of girls use this wen going on holiday & the act as a contraception aswel (lol dont no y i laugh, sorry)..
theres another way of doing it which was to start taking them now (ideally 3months b4 the wedding) one tablet a day... but i told her i didnt want to do that... my main concern was all these sude affects ive heard about taking such pills- but she assured me that 3-4 weeks should be no problem!
i even looked the pills up online & what girls thought of it & its reassured me that they should be ok inshallah

For my exams at uni I took the medicine u have been prescribed as I didnt wanna be on in my final exams coz i get really bad...sorry 2 say but i felt like i was menustrating all month..had pain all month..
and then when i started they were shorter and since then ive never recovered! I usually have it really heavy...but since then they seem very light and last like 4 days...so im quite concerned and wudnt advise anyone 2 take em and thats y am doubtful 2 take em too..
btw i know my man for 9 yrs aswell :) similar stories huh!
oh my days, dont say that...im worried now...wot should i do?? i mean if i dont take them then im going to be 'on' on the shadi day..which means sweating like a beast, moody, bloated & u no the rest...i wudnt mind if it was the last few days but i dont want to start on the shadi day!! cos then my valima & going onto my honeymoon il be on...
any advice from girls would be much appreciated, i really dont want it to mess up my cycle :s so should i just leave it?

yeh ive kinda quit my diet..but have actually stopped feeling hungry...so its all gd! 2 much tension with the damn house...! got a month left 2 the wedding..who wud tink i wud be so concerned with the house..but guess thats a UK bride 4 u!
It may be that the tablet is ok with u,...it def stops ur cycle..so thats gd! bt it gave me a lot of pain...oh and yeh i feel as if my facial hair increased on my face 2...so i was relieved when i had 2 take it on the last day.....speak 2 ur doc and c if these r common symptoms...u r only gnna take it 4 a month..so Allah malik innit!

aishii, just don't worry. take them and see how you go. some people have no side effects, some people have mild ones and others have more severe.
the only way to know is to take them and see how you go. if you think anything is not feeling right - your are experiencing period pains all the time, more moody than usual etc, just stop taking them and go back to your doctor and let her know. she will be able to provide you with something else. really, there are sooo many kinds of BC for the cycle, different kinds of pills, the injection, the patch. something might work amazing for one person and be horrible for the next, even in the same family.
just don't worry, compared to the amount of women on the pill, the amount that experience significant side-effects is minimal.
