Re: Picking your Wedding Date
lol...well we will just have to wait & see ;)
ok so i had my appointment with a lady doctor which was really nice & i felt really comfy... she basically said that a lot of girls end up being 'on' on their wedding day & obviously want to delay it... she prescribed me these norethisterone tablets...which i am meant to take 3 days b4 my due date (so for me that would be 5/8/08)... i have to take 3 pills a day (which is gona be the hard part) but the day i stop taking them 3 days later i should be 'on' again... problem for me is that i am going on honeymoon 4days after my valima, so obv i dont want to be 'on' then either so shes given me 30 tablets which should last a month, so inshallah il stop taking them wen im back...she said a lot of girls use this wen going on holiday & the act as a contraception aswel (lol dont no y i laugh, sorry)..
theres another way of doing it which was to start taking them now (ideally 3months b4 the wedding) one tablet a day... but i told her i didnt want to do that... my main concern was all these sude affects ive heard about taking such pills- but she assured me that 3-4 weeks should be no problem!
i even looked the pills up online & what girls thought of it & its reassured me that they should be ok inshallah
hope that helps xx
Thank you aishii and everyone eles.
I have an appointment with the lady doctor this week so InshaAllah she will be able to help me.
I wonder if there is any kind of pill that you can take the day of your period to make it stop? B/c I am just afraid of getting them that day! ![]()
Re: Picking your Wedding Date
not on the day of, i think... a few days before, cos the hormones need time to work.
I don't select the date, it was decided by my hubby becoz he came from US so it depends upon him. My cousin suffered in a problem that she is "on" on her wedding day, thats horrible for all of us, it is very difficult to handle that situation we told her SIL that she is not well and her SIL is very nice, so she managed.
Re: Picking your Wedding Date
omg! whats the big deal..if you re on your period!! I am sure your husband will completely understand..he knows its part of life....it would be odd if he wouldnt..you ll be on 'IT' for like a million years..and he will be right there dealing with it.... :) so relax.
Re: Picking your Wedding Date
lol, i totally agree and understand chanda :). but i would think the main concern is feeling bleh and bloated and breaking out because you got your period. some girls have horrible symptoms. i think i'd be more concerned with me feeling yucky than actually not being able to do "it".
Re: Picking your Wedding Date
Midol and asprin and a hot bath :) ....avoid salty/sweet foods....i swear by it..
Re: Picking your Wedding Date
my mom doesn't let me take midol or any meds when i'm on my period:(. one of her friends told her it caused the blood flow to stop or lessen, so she thinks its a major no-no to interfere with mother nature :). ahh well...
lol---Ladies you can wait for few days, cant you :p
Guy can also wait for few days if bride happens to hit her day on Suhag raat or even going through tha ..
traditionaly, larki waley pick the date just for that reason as they know larki ki dates .
but now, cause other things also need to be considered (as Ira mentioned) like weekend, or marriage hall availibility and the fact that now dates are scheduled so much in advance that you cannot be certain for sure.
no where , it is required to consummate marriage on wedding night anyway ..
Re: Picking your Wedding Date
i know i'm side-tracking, but here's a very important point that is usually not know or followed by many.
ladies/girls- it is HARAAM to consumate or engage in the act while menstruating whether it is the wedding night or following childbirth or years down the road.

Exactly! It's one thing to not want to deal with the bloating, cramps, etc, but people who are afraid of what hubbies will think -- that worries me!

what about everything but actual act, is that haraam too

omg yet another thing to worry about when planning a wedding! i did not even think of this!! i totally lose my appetite during that time and don’t like to eat at all. and i don’t think a thermacare patch is gonna look good with my lehnga. hmm..i have no idea what i would do. i wouldn’t want to be on bc because although some bc does clear up your skin, others can make you depressed or breakout…and i don’t want to be guessing which one works and which doesn’t. it sounds weird, but i want my emotions to be my natural emotions…i don’t want to be guessing if it’s myself or the external hormones floating around in my body making me feel stuff. i have been noting the . days for the last 3 months anyway, maybe in a few years i’ll be super regular and know what days to avoid..maybe ![]()
