Re: Picking wedding date

My fiancée and i are going to be the ones to choose the date none of this funky period thing is coming in the way of us choosing the date, it didnt even cross my mind to ever think i should keep my period date in mind until now...SEE WUT U GUYS HAVE CAUSED!!!! =) j/k honestly whether I do or dont get them around my soon to be fixed wedding date I think im going to be a crazy bride regardless of period mood swings since i have no patience and worst of all no sister to help me plan my day so i already know period or not everyone better follow all given rules OH YEA THERE WILL BE RULES...one rule that has already been given out is that no one may dress up as a bride besides the BRIDE herself!!! and there are many more to come!!

Re: Picking wedding date

lol Rsheikh I love the rules part.

But seriously girls as far as the date is concerned. Me & my husband chose the date our selves. Of course we made sure about the school schedules & work schedules. But I also had to make sure about the whole period issue. The sort of crazy cramps I get . No way in hell would I want my wedding to be during those days. Medicines don't do wanders in my case either. Have already seen a bride whose Mehndi was ruined because of this issue. We have Shay's example as well.

On the other hand, when I told my mom about the date we have decided she told me that usually the wedding date has a lot to do with the brides "special" days. Its not because ohhh the groom can't wait or whatever & how do they do that since the elders sometimes decide? Supposedly the ladies communicate & then the message is passed on about what date would be suitable. Mom said its on of those things where you don't talk straight up but the elder ladies already now. (Now THAT would be weird)

As far as mango achaar is concerned. I have heard some other stuff about it too. I m cracking up already.

Oh & again its all luck too. I made sure yet considering the fact that I only have 4 months left there is only a 2 day difference left now. Which I m sure is gonna change too.

Torontobride coffee is just gonna make 'em come. By the way 7 months is plenty of time. Go with the flow for now. When I talked about delaying I just meant for that one particular month not twisting yr entire cycle coz again it might not be healthy.

Re: Picking wedding date

^^ So, when are u getting married...?

Re: Picking wedding date

SGC Your wedding and anniversary is on my birthday:hula: You are the 7th person who had that date for their wedding. It is very popular

Ona side note. One of my friends hadn’t had her time of the month for months and months and I told her to try the badam and milk thing. Now she has been visited by Aunt Flo:hayaa: Gosh didn’t think that would work! So thanks for sharing that girlies:hugz:

Re: Picking wedding date

^ oooh, yay! :)

Re: Picking wedding date

Our wedding date was chosen by hubs keeping in mind everyone's schedules as well as his parents' visit from Pakistan. It worked out well since his dad didnt get the visa until the weekend before, while MIL had hers for about 4-5 months prior.

wow! so it really works, what if u don’t like badaam…
Anything else with milk??

You’re welcome :):)

I feel good now.

I am getting married on 29th May InshaAllah :)

Coffee. As I mentioned before. As strong as you can handle. I used to drink 11-12 cups a day 6 years back. Mom used to get so upset & THAT's when she told me about the whole coffee being really hot in nature thing. Now one cup with triple expresso shots & I am all set. Mom doesn't know though.

Also if you don't like almonds then try warm milk with a pinch of turmeric powder & sugar to taste. If you can take more then a pinch then as much as you can handle. You can add pistachios too. This helps with cramps too & is also supposed to make your bones strong. I am not a big fan of milk but when I get my best friend I HAVE to drink turmeric milk.

Dried dates in hot milk. She had that too.
Yes thanks Straight up:hugz:

o wow, me too, inshaAllah!! :)

Oh zaburdust! Where? Congrats Sweet.

Re: Picking wedding date

sobint e naeem allset outfits and evrything ready?

Re: Picking wedding date

Congratulationz Bint-e-naeem... how r the preps going?

And grls how abt Honey in milk???

so i know that december is a really popular time to get married in pakistan - especially during christmas and what not - so what happens when muharram is during those dates? will people not get married then or is it becoming more acceptable to have weddings in those days?

Re: Picking wedding date

Normally there are No weddings...during Muharram..esp 9th and 10th of Muharrram...

All is almost set. Still haven't booked my caterers for food & confused between 2 make up artists. Problem is wedding is in Chicago & I am in Houston. So will have to wait till April finalize everything from A to Z. Have all my outfits except my mehndi, Chauthi & Shadi & as well as Walema. InshaAllah by next month will have the rest ready. I am trying to loose some good weight & kind of holding on the main joras.

Thanks Zaara :) Preps are hectic but but have their own charm. Alhumdulillah have the main imp. things out of the way. I am organizing my own Walema as well so have to really work on some unique ideas. Of all the hard work I have done I am actually thinking about becoming a wedding planner.

Milk & honey works for constipation. I don't know about best friend.

My friend got married this Moharram in Pakistan. Best friend was really upset since she is Shia & was not able to make it. But the families had decided so..

Re: Picking wedding date

i dont think so periods is the only reason..there is weather, exams of siblings, availibility of hall, close realitives if the are coming from abroad so many points to consider.
