Fasting does help in many ways. Like Doctors say that too much consumption of protein and carbohydrates makes a person more sexually active. Through fasting we can control and limit our food which helps in limiting appetite for sex.
Brother, let us not use the word innocent for an activity which the prophet (saw) didn't encouraged or allowed.
I am not going to go in details of the medical effects of masturbation on one's health, it would be easy to Google it. Anything the prophet (saw) disallowed was later proved by science as harmful for health. If we groom ourselves according to the sunnah of the Prophet (saw) there wouldn't be any need of masturbation. Though I don't like to display my deeds, just to give you an example, I recently got married at the age of 27, and Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah I was able to spend my bachelor life without using this act, not even once. In sleep the process happens itself in accordance to the needs of one's body after a certain time depending upon a person's body. I agree that at times the desire is too intense, but the solution to such problems are the teachings of the prophet (saw). More Zikr, protection of gaze, fasting and other religious practices helps us in gaining control over our desires.
We don't need to ask the practicality of an authentic hadith. Allah and the prophet (saw) know better than us. It is our duty to find out ways to implement the ways of the prophet (saw) in our lives than finding excuses for the forbidden acts.
I do not want to to insult you but none of your musings here answer my genuine concerns, you are just repeating yourself.
You are talking about exceptions and I am talking about a general practical problem. Zikr and protection of gaze can be performed during waking hours the situation I am describing is not controllable via these methods. Please don't try to close you eyes from a problems faced by majority of Muslim youth.
Even authentic ahadees are not infallible and not beyond scrutiny.
If this hadees or any other hadees does not answer my genuine concerns then it does not apply here . It was either not narrated by Holly Prophet or you are trying to apply a hadees here which does not belong here.
I know you do not have answers to these questions and concerns therefore you do not need to bring a hadees into picture which does not apply to the situation. This way you can save me and yourself from the sin of insulting the wisdom and knowledge of Holy Prophet.
Jazzak Allah hul khair.
BBS and STP, what we are doing here is just bringing forward hadith regarding the matter. You and me all of us know that there are different schools of thought and different sects of Islam. If we go into a lengthy discussion it will never end, we can go around in circles. The basic thing is it is wrong, why do not you see the wisdom and the idea put forward to you.
You people have been so brain washed by science and it's ideas that you have forgotten what our religion tells us. It was our religion which told us things that science has just come to begin to tell us. Science says that honey is not good for a baby under one years old however Allah says that i have put all the shiffa in honey and you can get cured from honey for all diseases apart from death. Very contradictory isnt it, what are you going to do? Leave your faith and become scientoligists and start worshipping facts and figures? There are some things which you have to leave to Allah.
Yes, we all know about the nature of guys and our sex drives. You say that STP bro is repeating himself well what are you all people doing? At least he is bringing forward hadith which has some meaning and can be used for our guidance, all of you people are just restating the obvious. We know!! You do not have to repeat that guys have sex drives and get urges.
If you keep on shouting and repeating something in the hopes that it will be listened to by the other person then you are wrong. Just repeating one thing over and over again is not going to work. Change strategies please and if you have some valid genuine concern and thought in your mind then bring it forward and InshAllah someone will solve it for you.

Please read posts # 16 and #21 again , yes I have some valid genuine concerns and thoughts in my mind and I have brought them forward . But since you do not have any answers you are down playing them.
altthough theyre wrong, i tihnk both 3 and 5 are the least harmful cos in these situations, there is no one being harmed, apart from the person masturbating themselves, but no one else is being harmed, and that was your question wasnt it, which is the least harmful to society? soooooo yeah, 3 and 5.
Sorry bro i will give you two quick suggestions as i have to go somewhere.
Science: if you are having all these urges and it is annoying and really abnormal i.e you get them a lot to the point that you cannot concentrate then i suggest you take this drug called Raloxifeno. It does wonders, and i know. The sexual desire/urge drops to minimal levels and a person can actually be normal and talk to women normally. Also it helps to reduce weight so that is an added bonus. Obviously you go and ask for a prescription from your GP and not just take it from the pharmacy without any advice.
About dreams wet/erotic yes you are right that we do get them but that is normal. Even muslims get them. Just take a shower afterwards and do ablution and forget about it. The more you think about something the more it sticks out in your personality and mind.
Islam: you asked about what can be done, well just like girls have to do ghusl and ablution after they have a wet dream, the same applies for us guys too. Just do ghusl and pray to Allah to forgive you for seeing such things. Also bro, the kind of dreams you get are totally dependant on what you do throughout the day so see what you are doing. Do not think about girls too much throughout the day, this way they will not come in your dreams. When you have a wet dream, wake up and do ghusl and ablution and repent in your mind and inshallah everything will be alright.
See bro, Allah is your creator, HE is the ALL KNOWING. He is aware that you will get urges because he is the one that created you. Islam allows for someone to have dreams and has also told us what to do afterwards. I suggest you do some reading on the subject matter.
Also bro, even if someone is married and has sex with his wife both partners are to do ghusl and ablution and pray namaz afterwards. This is what Allah wants us to do, some couples who are very religious do it and follow but other do not. It is up to you bro.

Obviously you and I are from different planets. You did not understand that I have no such problems , I am talking about problems faced by Muslim youth in general I relate to them as I talk to them and they talk to me about their problems.
You don't even understand what issues and concerns I am bringing to light. So I will leave it at that.
The simple question to ask oneself is " Would I be able to justify my act and reasoning in front of Allah (s.w.t) on the day of Judgment ?"
To put it in better words " Would my excuse of doing this act be acceptable in front of Allah, provided that the prophet (saw) didn't allow / perform / encourage it ?"
We all know Allah loves the words and actions of the Prophet (saw) more than us.
The people I know who performed this act told me that they felt "extremely" guilty after doing it for the first time, a natural response of the mind and body after committing a sin.

Masterbation has not been declared sin in Quran .
Since we are told contrary to it and have made it a sin on our own , that is why those people feel guilty .That is what I am saying we have associated sin and declared it Sin on our own. As for Sahaih hadees against masterbation I do not accept them as sahih because they go against Quran which did not declare materbation as sin.
The Quranic verses you are quoting for declaring masterbation as sin are against the act of zina and are directing us to save our private parts from zina not from masterbation. masterbation cannot not be proved as zina and cannot be equated to zina from Quran.
Wallah Alim bis sawab. Allah knows the best and he has told us the best.

Where in the Qur'an it says that you are allowed to do masterbation?
^ Well said. Besides that there are a lot of issues of life that are not mentioned in the Quran, that is why Allah says:
**"You should accept whatever the Messenger gives you and abandon whatever he tells you to abandon. Have taqwa of Allah..." (Surat al-Hashr: 7)
**In another verse, the definitive nature of the Prophet's (saas) judgment is set out in these terms:
**When Allah and His Messenger have decided something, no believing man or woman has a choice about [following or not following] it. Anyone who disobeys Allah and His Messenger is clearly misguided. (Surat al-Ahzab: 36)**
Opposing the Prophet's (saas) role as rule-maker and disobeying his rules constitute denial.
**But if anyone opposes the Messenger after the guidance has become clear to him, and follows a path other than that of the believers, We will hand him over to whatever he has turned to, and We will roast him in Hell. What an evil destination! (Surat an-Nisa': 115)**

I believe in all this , but according to my belief it all pertains to Quran and its teachings which were delivered to us by holy Prophet as given to him by Alllah.
Here Allah is telling the belivers what your Prophet is delivering you in the name of Quran is just.
Whatever he is deciding on the basis of what is in Quran is just.
and whoever oposes what is in Quran is opposing Allah.
Very simple.
According to my belief these verses do not pertain to every single word reported to be uttered by holy prophet and reported by third parties.
Which Islamic ruling gives you right to ask such a personal question. ?
Where in the Qur'an it says that you are allowed to do masterbation?
Where in Quran says that when you are hungry go and eat , when you are thirsty go and eat ?
Masterbation one of the ingrained basic instinct granted to us by Allah to save us from sins. It is basic instict to satisfy our hunger for sex in absense of legal means of satisfying it.
It is as basic as fulfilling our hunger for food , and as basic as quinching our thirst for water.
Allah is Rehman and Rahim did he not even allow us to eat Haram to save our lives.
So masterbation has not been made haram because of the same reason.

Allah knew that narrators of hadees will take liberty and will corroup the religion using hadees that is why Quran was revealed and all the hodood of Allah were mentioned in it. If Allah had to give an open licnese to holy prophet to declare halal and haram then why would Allah mention all those halal and haram in quran , or Allah forgot to mentions some halal and haram and holy Prophet or the narrators of hadees fullfilled those gaps.
Why was Quran revealed in the first place then , Allahs should have said this is my Rasool , just follow him blindly and you will be saved. Why Alllah made sure and declared in Quran that He will make sure that the sanctity of Quran remains intact and Allah has been doing so. Because Allah knew that animies of Islam will try to corroupt this religions using various means one of them is hadees.
Please guys this was not meant to be a religious debate.
Bholabhalasa - I understand your concerns are very valid. It quite true that we can not solve all problems through religous sermons. We Need some practical steps.
You May agree or disagree but Islam is very practical religon . Before any instruction regarding masturbation, Islam recommends muslims to get married.
The core problem of todays youth is that getting married early ( late teenage or early 20s ) is extremely difficult. Most of the blame lies on the shoulder of parents and rest on the youth it self.
The idea of early marraige is very repulsive to them. They consider it very medieval.
The most common excuse they bring forth is education , career , maturity etc.
While all these thing can be attained after getting married. ( There must be some examples around you ) At the same time there is no guarantee of successful marraige , if the spouse is ideally placed at career lader.
The parents in some cases are prime culprits, who set very high standards and delay marraige of their children. This is a very unfortunate but very true social drawback of our society
I thinks young generation is slowly but surely changing its mindset and comming back to early marraiges. Which should be encouraged :k:
