thats a half-statement twisted by stupid media. There was no problem in the plane itself when it took off. But one engine broke during the flight afterwhich the pilot sent mayday message. The other engine was still running fine and there are many instances when planes reach their dest in one engine. So wuts PIA MD is saying here is correct.

Apparently whats guessed is there the pilots invoked too much energy in reviving the failed engine instead of focusing to land plane safely with the leftover. Thats when it went off the radar and hit the mountain.

that is exactly what i thought. there is no way PIA would let a plane fly knowing that one engine is already failed. PIA is bad not that bad. the engine failed in the air.

My second reaction was that pilots unfortunately made a judgmental error as they had an option (albeit a limited one) via 2nd engine but they didnt use it fully

both pilots were related. father and son.

PIA, like other organizations, has been destroyed since the seventies by sifarish and quota system, but oh no can’t criticize that since it is the birth right of “sons of the soil”…

737 is a good option for such difficult mountainous terrains and weather conditions.

They say landing is the most tricky or challenging part for a pilot.

It seems that the hilly surroundings of Islamabad pose a special challenge for most pilots esp. at landing. It could just be mere coincidence but most of these air crashes over the past decade or so (Air Blue, Shaheen which I believe is run by PAF, ATR) have happened during the final approach to Islamabad airport (within last few miles). So near yet so far…very sad.

And I read 3 of these 4 reports. All gIvins similar conclusions that the flight staff was not trained for various type of situations as well as needing various trainings of the plane system usage that they were flying.
I don’t know any follow up action is being taken or these reports are just thrown in dustbins

There is a reason that PIA was better in sixties and earlier seventies before you bhutta destroyed pakistan’s economy with quota system and nationalization which was a ruse to get inept losers a free job at the expense of Pakistan. Zia ul Haq wasn’t better as he continued the stupid quota policies instead of employing people on merit in govt jobs.

Btw, it is pretty neat coming from someone who does laan taan over muhajirs and calls muhajirs dugga.

Interestingly it has been revealed to MTJ via a friend in England that JJ is now in heaven. Why it was not directly revealed to him? And why he never cries for people killed in terrorism by his sect people whereas JJ has only died in an air crash.
