I believe what he is saying is that when the plane took off there was no technical issue with it, at 4:09 pilot did send may-day signal informing that one engine has failed.

He was from my alma mater UET-Lahore but very senior…he used to come to most of UET concerts to perform. later, i met him in Chicago i think in 2001 for a concert and we chatted for a while. very nice, soft and humble guy.

This is so tragic. Just over a week ago, I was shopping at this new Junaid Jumshaid store that had opened nearby. Also, dozens of other families who are affected by this tragedy, :inna:

JJ started visiting US very often in last few years and was a regular speaker at our masjid in each visit. Actually he and shahid Afridi are a part of fundraising campaign for Darul-uloom in Jamaica, NY which has been going for years. His last visit was just a month or so back.
Anywaz, there was a “Ghaebana” Namaz-e-jinaza at our masjid tonight for him. A very unusual crowd came and people were extremely sad and upset as they were remembering the last meeting with him.
Its really, really sad!

thats a half-statement twisted by stupid media. There was no problem in the plane itself when it took off. But one engine broke during the flight afterwhich the pilot sent mayday message. The other engine was still running fine and there are many instances when planes reach their dest in one engine. So wuts PIA MD is saying here is correct.
Apparently whats guessed is there the pilots invoked too much energy in reviving the failed engine instead of focusing to land plane safely with the leftover. Thats when it went off the radar and hit the mountain.

Don’t PIA pilots come from PAF lot? The airline segment in Pakistan isn’t that big.

from destruction of plane of Pakistan’s first Pakistani nominated air chief and his second , till today , we never know the reports of plane crashes inside Pakistan , only we could see the reports of PIA planes crashed outside Pakistan

unfortunately, just like accidents in the past, we might never know the cause of the crash and hence we will not make any effort to stop any such tragedy in the future.
It’s very rare that a person inspires your twice in your life. He did inspire me twice. Once in teens and once in the 30s.
