ok, this isn’t a joke, and before we start, i don’t want this to turn into a debate on men and women’s rights and i don’t want any name calling, etc.
i just read a statistic, that men have an ave of 11 erections in the day, and ave of 9 in the night. They usually wake up with an erection as well. Is this just a normal body function, i mean are men just naturally aroused a lot, or do they have to see something or feel something that arouses them. As far as i know women do not get aroused this often. So what’s the deal?
about the number of erections and etc., being a girl, where did you get all the statistics from
ok, now…yes men have erections at night and USUALLY wake up with an erection. the funny thing is when i went to pakistan, i NEVER had erections at night. i don’t know why…maybe cuz it was too hot or maybe some other reason
no you don’t HAVE TO look at something to get aroused. sometimes thoughts can be enough to arouse you…it depends.
It all depends… stats are just stats… sometimes u don’t get any… and sometimes u do for no damn reason! The main thing is… we can’t really say about women because there’re no visible indications…
i wasn't trying to be mean or make fun of anyone. But you always hear abt all guys ever think abt is sex, and guys are always horny, etc...i know it was one random statistic. But guys are still aroused (from what i understand) a lot more often than women. And then u bring in masturbation percentages etc, and those always say men do it more, even if women are willing to admit they do it also. I guess no one can answer this, but i wonder why men's bodies are more abt sexual relief, then women's...
I guess they think about it all the time...I doubt if there's a woman who thinks of this stuff for 24 hours...I don't even think a woman can satisfy her man completely....I just can't imagine that...do other ladies think the same way or is it just me who is not romantic enough to believe that woman can satisfy a man completely??
Some males wake up with an erection and some don't. Either way, both are completely normal. Studies have shown that men have several erections and arousal periods while in the dreaming phase of sleep called Rapid Eye Movement. Women also experience this, but it is not marked as easily as an erection is. A male's nightime and morning erections are not very sexual in nature. It has something to do with oxygen and blood flow during the night.

Well I *personally think that it's the other way around! :D
oh hooo... bechaarey ... sometimes i feel so sorry for men!!! hehe but then i think what us women have to go thru and wonder who cares .. its just an erection!!! if u have em.. u have themm.. big deal, its natures way of saying. sab theek hai .. :P but u guys really shouldnt think about sex all the time, the lastest figures is something like every 6 seconds.... what are u guys on, and where do u get the time to think about sex this much,???? women do think about it but not as much as men, and once ure married it just becomes a routine, so u dont think about it at al.. (speaking from experience)! anyway thats all i have to say on the topic!
:)

714 it varies broadly for each man.......as Fret mentioned above, since their are so many factors... processes and stimuli(external and internal) involved. An average man who is both physically and mentally healthy naturally experiences frequent sexual stimulations during the course of the day ...which can easily reach and cross the avg u stated above for both night and day.....and it is strictly biological. As for a man with not so healthy lifestyle can have erectile dysfunctio (even at an early age)especially if the individual is a smoker and does not practice safe sex....therefore his exposeure to STD's...which in turn can play an important role in slowing his sex drive.
There are just too many factors again to stick to one definative theory about erectile functions. Biologically its been proven that females are no less active than males in sexual stimulation.....but through ovulation(spelling) can obtain an equilibrium of sorts ........where as males dont seem to have those kinds of biological checks and balances in place.

I kind of understand where you're coming from but as Pak99 also said "its the other way around".
714 I think statistics are biased, they tend to manipulate the answers. I mean who ever did the survery what if he/she only asked questions to sexually frustrated men. You get what I am saying?
I mean the statistics are not the same for everyone.
Lets say a person wanted to prove Lamborgini is the best car ever, he/she might only interview people with Lamborginiz or people that only like that particular car. So at the end the Stat would be more positive than negative.
About the erections its normal body function. And Fret is right about the oxygen involved at night for an erection to happen.

714, the waking up with erection has nothing to do with sexual arousal, it's just a body function. BTW if you want to do some further "hands-on" research on this topic..I will be more than happy to help you out.
Asmi, Kala Malang, LM, and seeker-thanks for ur replies :k: and ur info. its interesting-didnt know.
LM-that’s a good point. and random surveys can mean anything, but it was a just another aspect-i mean, u always hear half-jokingly, abt how men are always horny etc. so i thought i’d ask
Seeker-thanks for the offer, but i think i’ll pass for now if i ever reconsider, ill let u know
I think you didn't get my point..sure, women want it to last for a longer time but they don't want it twice or thrice a day, do you guys agree?...Men can't make it last longer but they want to have it like 'so many times'...In that sense I said I don't think a woman can satisfy man completely.

Yeah Okay now I got your point. And YES! I do agree that women want it to last longer and do not want it couple of times in a day. But about how you said that men can't go longer, that I believe is not true for everyone. But whatever time they spend I think some men just dont satisfy their female partner, I knew so many girls that faked it every single time. Sad isn't it
714..Its good that you asked this question but never believe the satistics. Atleast I don't here's a tip. Do personal research ;)
