That's just sad.

And, all the blame is on this backwardness called "forced marriage." Guys and gals have to really stand p for themselves and let their parents know that it's their God given right to marry whoever they want to marry.

Now, that doesn't mean talk back to them and insult your parent, nor does it mean go out and start dating to find someone you like. But, really, the simple fact is that no parent can actually force you into a marriage. Forced marriage is invalid, and even your parents know that really well.

No one is gonna stand there with a gun on your head and tell you to say, "Qabool hai, Qabool hai, Qabool hai..." In the end, it comes down to you giving up. Just gotta be more firm InshaAllah.

So-and-So's rishta was fixed when they were 5 years old and so-and-so's mother told their sister that they will get their daughter married to their son when they grow up. And, now that poor daughter is thinking, "What the 'eck? When did I agree to this!?" smack

'Intimacy' word comes from emotional attachment. So thread should read more on the lines 'Physical relations without emotional intimacy'

Like many have said, it is very common. Specially in arranged marriages where there is not much of an emotional attachment.

The thought is dreadful (specially for the ladies)

Sex is a fascinating act.

For lots of men it does not require emotional intimacy, for a lot of women this idea is wrong.

well it is sort of idealistic way of thought, that sex will always be succeeded after the emotional diplay. Even the 200% love married couples are not lovey dovey 24/7. It might be blunt to assert but I think marriage can survive without love but wont survive without sex. Phyisical intimacy has it own value which cannot be ignored really, unless you believe in platonic love

you know how a cuddle or a kiss and so on rather extinguishes the anger or bad feelings on the other side, so sometimes, its rather this physical intimacy which generates the emotional one.

Okay, shoot me for this, but this is something which i want to know:

In my own khandaan, I’ve known that there were few guys who didn’t want to marry certain girls because they just didn’t like them, but they ended up being married because of being forced by families. Even after marriage, their apparent behaviour with their wives is quite rude, and not so good, but still they have kids I mean, how do people get physically intimate with their partners if they don’t feel love for them and when there’s no emotional intimacy? I am sure that’s very much a common thing. Physical intimacy is possible without love?

People normally visit pros and i’m sure there is 99% no Physical intimacy but they still do. So its their wife so no need to get astonished :cobra:
