Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

Great news from our city of lights. Seems like we are finally getting rid of the death and destruction from the 80s through 90s.

While we are at it, it is great that we can press upon US, UK, and EU to open up their markets. I really like efforts such as the one by KCCI President Haroon Farooki who met with Ron Rimmer the British Deputy High Commission, Karachi. Mr. Farooki urged him that EU should provide a level playing field and an early grant of GSP plus status to Pakistan.

This will be the only way we will be able to rid ourselves from Urdu-bazi and Islamo-fascism.

Karachi is a great city, however it lacks the reputation compared to its neighboring ports like Dubai and Mumbai.

Karachi Film industry ought to pull itself up and create some fun-filled hulla gullah (rus-gulla).

Bottom line is that Karachi is ready to put all the bad stuff behind itself and surge forward on the international scene. Karachi zindabad, Pakistan Paindabad.

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

Karachi can compete with any city in the world, and is doing ok these days. The previous Nazim (JI) was also a decent man and he did a lot of good.

It is free of much terrorism these days because the biggest terrorists, MQM are in govt, and are being given everything they want by Mush.

However when they are out of govt, they will go back to their demands, backed up by their usual killings, bombings, street crime, etc

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

Good for karachi..being such a cosmopolitan city, given the right opportunity and left to it's own devices I am sure Karachi can compete with the best in the world, when karachi hurts all Pakistan hurts..unfortunately things are rarely balanced in Pakistan..one place recovers and another suffers.

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

They should start of my making men from Karachi act masculine. No more red hair dye , no more beauty treatments!

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

my was a typo. I meant "by". B and M are very close on Miss Qwerty. :D

Karachi may rock. But the men are too feminine for us to take them seriously.

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

Karachi needs to improve its infrastructure, roads in Karachi are still a mess.and the crime rate may have come down, but is still pretty damn high.. a lot of people are still getting mugged, a lot of cars are still being snatched at gunpoint.Mqm who are in the government here ,we all know what they are all about so you would'nt expect the crime rate to come down too much.

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

On the topic of road, we need more traffic lights and less of the circles of death (roundabouts) in khi.

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

I am a Punjabi male! How can we take the complaints of such women-like men of Sindh seriously.

We spend our time laughing at there lack of masculinity.

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

^ thats where our problem lies, we go for the looks “look who is talking” and not “what he is talking” :hoonh:

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

Oh Chaudhry sahib, let this mash-kewl-anity thingy get some rest.

The topic of this thread is about Karachi making a recovery. Finally!

It is a good news so let's celebrate and gulp down couple of glasses of "pairay wali lassi". Off course for us Karahi-ites, that dark half-set tea is good enough. We'll by golly use the cups, the saucers, and finally the tea-kettle to serve half set tea to at least 5 people.

Just wait and watch for Saqib Malik’s upcoming film Ajnabi Shehr Mein, starring Ali Z and Shaan. And I agree, the bitterness of the natives needs to go.

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

We, as Pakistanis should beat the crap out of you. About time we all become one nation.

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

Is this another potential thread of race-bashing which usually ends as being closed?

Re: Phoenix Rising - Karachi on the road to recovery

I would prefer to live in Islamabad if there was more business there.Altough the people here are slightly better than the people in punjab, but Karachi is very polluted and over populated now.
