Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

LONDON, May 20 (Reuters) - A picture of Saddam Hussein in his underpants was splashed across the front-page of Britain’s biggest-selling newspaper on Friday.

The Sun newspaper quoted U.S. military sources as saying they had handed over the pictures “in the hope of dealing a body blow to the resistance in Iraq”.

Other photographs showed Saddam, with short, dyed-black hair and a moustache, washing clothes by hand and asleep on his bed.

But a U.S. military statement said the pictures might be a year old, contravened Saddam’s rights as a prisoner and could have broken the Geneva Convention.

“Multi-National Forces-Iraq is disappointed at the possibility that someone responsible for the security, welfare, and detention of Saddam would take and provide these photos for public release,” the statement said.

“This lapse is being aggressively investigated to determine, if possible, who took the photos, and to ensure existing procedures and directives are complied with to prevent this from happening again,” it said.

Toppled from power in the U.S. war in Iraq in April 2003, Saddam was captured hiding in a small underground bunker in December of the same year. Apart from a brief court appearance last year, no images of Saddam have been made public since then.

Saddam is expected to stand trial in next year on charges of genocide, torture and crimes against humanity. If he is found guilty he could face the death penalty.

“Saddam is not superman or God, he is just an ageing and humble old man,” The Sun quoted the military source as saying.

"It’s important that the people of Iraq see him like that to destroy the myth. Maybe that will kill a bit of the passion in the fanatics who still follow him.

“It’s over, guys. The evil days of Saddam’s Baath Party are never coming back - and here’s the proof,” the source said.

The newspaper said the pictures were taken at a top secret location where Saddam was being held in a 12-ft by 9-ft (3.6-m by 2.7-m) cell, watched 24 hours a day on closed circuit television by special forces and military police.

It is not the first time pictures of U.S. detainees in Iraqi jails have been leaked to the media.

A year ago graphic photographs of the abuse of detainees in the notorious Abu Ghraib jail outraged world opinion and were described as the best recruiting campaign for Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda.

Humilation in this life and the afterlife is what saddam insane will be getting no saddness at that but just goes to show what happens when you become a puppet and how you get treated by your paymasters after.

As for the statement that he is followed by people or seen as a superman that just shows the US are living in fantasy land the resistance has nothing to do with saddam insane or the baath party, its to do with the occupation you idiots!

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

If the US REALLY wanted to do that, my friend, they could have given them to US media, don't you think? Didn't it give you pause when a UK paper printed them? How on earth is this going to break the resistance, even I know that this would be useless and I am not a military stratigist.

Instead of being a sheep of the media, use some of the logic you seem to have at times.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

This was just some loony trial balloon floated by some Ad Exec for Fruit of the Loom. Rumor has it, they are trying to capture the underwear market in Iraq. Their theory is that the insurgents have soiled so many pairs of their drawers that there must surely be a demand.

Saddam underwear photo angers US: BBC NEWS | Middle East | Saddam underwear photo angers US

it was the British press that published these, not the U.S.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

I would say 'invasion of privacy"

no one deserves this kind of treatment.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

I agree. I don’t think the U.S. had anything to do with this. More likely the powers that be in London and Paris. Yeah…for sure. In fact, if someone asked me “who do you think is behind this?”

I’d be inclined to say, “I see London…I see France…”

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

It is only the time difference that makes you think it is published by British media, and not US media.

The pics were published both by 'The Sun' (Britain) and New York Post (US) on the same day. And both papers (rags/tabloids, whatever you wanna call them) are owned by none other than, 'News Coporation', which is owned by Rupert Murdoch. And guess what else, 'News Corporation' owns...? Yes, "Fox" ... the 'fair and balanced' network of the right-wing America, the main support base of President Bush.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

That could be great lyrics for a song.

“I see London…
I see France …
I see Saddam in his underpants…
Oh yeah … oh yeah.”

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

Storch, THAT was funny.

And, it was published by the high bidder. Have no doubt the number of rags that would publish this are many.

I have this great picture of Bill Clinton in a thong, but I did the right thing and gave it to Michael Moore....

^^ Storch is a veritable 2005 male version of Carole King. He wins the Guppy Songwriter of the Year Award hands down.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

Well we'll see what this achieves, other than the obvious trouser tent from myvoice.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

He looks good for his age. I would go for boxers if I had assets like his, but good for him. I hate these types as they give me wedgies.

Saddam to sue over prison photos

Saddam Hussein plans to take legal action after a British newspaper published photos of him half-naked in his prison cell and doing his washing.

“We will sue the newspaper and everyone who helped in showing these pictures,” said Saddam Hussein’s chief lawyer Ziad Al-Khasawneh, speaking from Jordan.

The Sun newspaper said it would fight any legal action and said it planned to publish more photos on Saturday. The US has launched an investigation into how the photos were leaked.

oops.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

That’s really very ballzy of Saddam for wanting to sue. Aren’t there photos (videos) of him (and his boys) killing Iraqis? Do you think that the relatives of those Iraqis should also sue him?

Some Babaratzi must have taken these photos.

I think the new Iraqi government should webcast his daily activity 24/7 for a little price. The money made should go to help Iraqis.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

I think he should sue, it doesn't matter if he is a prisoner, his rights were clearly violated. And, yeah, the relatives of those Iraqi's should sue, too. They have that right, in fact I would love to see a mass suit filed asap.

Just because someone is a prisoner and did something people don't like doesn't mean his dignity should be stripped from him.

Think about it, if this is allowed, then it should be allowed for women prisoners too (3 musketeers, be quiet, no off-topic clowning around about this, you putzes). You can't strip the rights of anyone you want just because he deserves it, it is a slippery slope to start down.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

Does it strike anyone as odd that we are giving this a moments thought? A leaders who started wars with Kuwait and Iran, who has slaughtered hundreds of thousands of his own fellow Iraqis, who spent his countries wealth on exotic weapons and palaces, and who is awaiting trial for Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity, and we are worried that this monsterous killer got his photo taken in his tighty whities?

The lack of perspective just boggles me. May the next properly released photo be of Saddam swinging at the end of a rope.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

Minah, I agree with you. If it turns out that this was done by the orders of his captives, then they should be held accounable, but if it is some Babaratzi, then who is he going to sue? He should be happy that his people get to see his photos to know that he is alive and well, and is in pertty good shape for his age. No one is looking at his photos wanting to have sex with him. Oh well, it's hard to tell since the photos were published in a British paper. You know how those brits are.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

OG - sure today it is Saddam, tomorrow....who? It doesn't matter who it is, it is a violation of that person's privacy.

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

Minah. I think failing to have perspective of the relativity of offense is a real mistake. And that the scale should be viewed as logarithmic, not linear. So on a scale of one to a hundred Saddams offenses were 100. Publishing a picture of him in his skivies is a 2.

Murder, Genocide and disappeared human beings under Saddams regime numbered hundreds of thousands. Think about explaining to hundreds of thousands of widows, orphans and mothers why we are concerned about Saddams dignity.

After all, it's not like we published a photo of MyVoice in his leopard Speedo or something.....

Re: Peverted US release Pictures of Saddam Hussein Exposed in his Pants

OG - Unfortunately with people's rights you cannot have a scale of importance, they are either there or not. You cannot suspend the rights of someone just because you don't like them, no matter what they do. As a people we can't allow this line to be crossed for a subjective reason like this.

This guy could be Hitler and he still would deserve his right to privacy like any other prisoner. And if this was allowed we might eventually even see MV in a speedo....
