Instead of the National Stadium can we rename Qaddafi Stadium Lahore to Woolmer Field? I hate that a third world dictator has a stadium named after in my city of Zindaa-dilaanay Lahore

I am not sure if we should do this.. i mean i have great respect for Woolmer and his services to pakistan but i think we should draw a line to this tribute thing.. next if Allah-na-karay some other great pakistani player passed away would we rename the stadium again?
Think about it.. government acknowledging his contribution, pak ppl acknowledging this contribution and we are all sad about this tragedy but i wouldn't go as far as renaming the national stadium or any stadium for that matter..

Thats exactly what I was thinking yesterday. Good to see someone mentioned it.
And I'm all for renaming Qaddafi stadium to Woolmer Field or anything of that sort. Naming a stand after him would be a slap in the face to his legacy, and the fact that he died while serving the Pakistani national team (which no one has as far as I know) should definitely warrant a stadium rename.
