my biggest pet peeve has to be when you’re talking to someone and they’re about to tell you some story and you get yourself into full attention listening mode.. aur phir achaanak say you get deflated with a “oh nvm”… drives me nuts!
what things really get to you when talking with others?
AmorAmor. If you expect gratitude in return for favours bestowed, do yourself a favour by not doing people any favours i.e. ehsaan jataana haiy to ehsaan na karo.

It's not a favour, its merely courtesy. On our roads, its the done thing - you acknowledge it in some way. Isn't a difficult concept to follow.
ahh… or you’re fighting a battle to get a parking spot, and you finally found one here someone is backing out of the spot.. as you’re about to turn in, a car comes from the other side and steals it…
1) The biggest pet peeve would be people who lack tact. This could be in the form of making rude remarks, or general lack of consideration/manners.
2) People who don't let you get a word in. During a "conversation" with such a person, you can't even make it half way through your sentence before this person interrupts you and starts talking a mile a minute. You can't win with someone like this. They're not even open to hearing what you have to say. I guess this would relate to tact, but it's more specific.
3) People who KNOW they're wrong. In fact, everyone around them KNOWS they're wrong. Even if you were to rack your brain, you couldn't come up with valid excuses or justification for their offensive/hurtful actions. But their pride won't allow them to apologize to you............not even the briefest, most lamest of apologies. And then they start talking to you as if nothing ever happened. BUT GOD FORBID........you were to offend them. They'd expect YOU to to say sorry. It takes courage to apologize......it doesn't make one weaker or smaller. It's simply the right thing to do.
4) Consistently unreliable people. They say they'll be there......or that they can get the job done............but they don't deliver. And then can't comprehend why you're upset.
5) Snoring. I read somewhere that it's now considered a form of music. Yeah......I don't think so.
6) Cursing up a storm. I see this a lot in the movies. A single sentence contains the F-word after every other word. "Why did you F'in forget to bring the F-in bag you F-in idiot. F-you!" It's understandable to lose control and curse.....but when you overdo it, it makes it seem like you have limited vocabulary. You sound stupid. Surely, there must be other curse words...or condescending words that you know of.
7) As a teacher...............carelessness in writing mechanics is a pet peeve. You'd think this would be the case for ALL teacher, but that's not so. There are many who don't care if your sentence doesn't begin with a capital letter and end with a punctuation mark, or that you capitalize your common nouns and fail to capitalize proper nouns likes names and countries. But for me.........it gets under my skin. Frequent careless work soon finds a home in the trash can in my class.
8) Chewing with your mouth open. Picking nose in public. Certain repetitive sounds can be annoying as well.

Took the words right out of my mouth...err...keyboard. I'd like to tweak this a bit though...how about people who are convinced that they are right (as in, they quite honestly BELIEVE in their rightness), will not entertain the possibility that you have a point, and will hold a decades long grudge, all the while expecting you to apologize for every little breach in protocol.
Another one of mine is people who are in some sort of competition that you never knew about. As in, you spent 5 minutes talking to her, but only 3 to me. You spoke to her about XYZ, but not to me. You held her baby at the party, but not mine. Makes me want to tear my hair out, all the while wondering what happened to this person in their childhood to make them so incredibly insecure.
People who have poor grammar and write your instead of you're....I cringe when I see that!
People who argue for the sake of arguing and don't even have their facts straight! They just want to argue because they want the upper hand! These people often have no idea what they're arguing about....they just want to get the last word in!
People who are insecure and petty yet when other people critique them on their behavior they brush it off claiming that others are just jealous of them.

^UGH........can't believe I forgot about that one. It's so annoying. Some are not even that discreet about it. The kind that will say, "So you're trying to outdo me there?" And you're like "Huh? What? Come again? I wasn't aware there was a competition."
oh there are so, so many. i'll add more later but #1 on my list has to be those gross sounds people make with their mouth. sounds of them rolling their tongue around their slimy mouth or the noise they make when their eating, or when they're picking the food out of their teeth when they're done eating. i hate those sounds SO much, i think i might need therapy. it literally gives me a headache if it goes on for too long.

definitely.
and then there are the people who think everything's a competition, the kind of people who are always secretly competing and you can SO tell but you couldn't care less for who "wins". i like to sit back and watch the poor souls gain some self-esteem.
