Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

well, i cant call it a sharara/gharara/etc. cant call it an angharka (i know what that looks like) so....i call it a pishwaz.

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

Pishwas looks something like below…

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

^ I thot thas an anarkali dress, the type thats in nowadays??

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

I think it is the same thing…probably more then one name… Also I think in Pakistan, piswaz was made more with a kamkhawab and/or banarsi material. I know my mom got my sister a pishwas and it was the same style but the fabric was kamkhawab and banarsi fabric…

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

A peshwaaz has a fitted corset-like top and a full, frock-like portion attached with it. It is worn traditionally with a churidaar.

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

Thats my outfit then, it is fitted at the waist and flares out. but minus teh churidar. They had a shalwar made instead of churidar :(

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

^ Get a neutral churidaar made. I have one in gold and one in silver. I wear my gold one with my mangni outfit which looks much better with a churidaar, rather than the shalwar it originally had.

EDIT: Sara, I don't think yours is a traditional peshwaaz. They don't usually have that panel in front. There is more of a distinct waist.

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

Oooo.
i guess this is another thing i should add to the ever growing list... i'd like to find that exact kapra and have teh churidar made.

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

i love this one!

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

So the pictures Lusi posted are of Pishwas?
I absolutely love the look of these dresses. I so want one! I'm not a fan of churidar pajamas, but I love the whole look of this outfit and how it comes together.

Re: Pishwas/bhopali dress

Would it look good on ppl with short height?
