Re: Anarkali Dresses
arjun and dino look like they are wearing clothes made out of bedsheet or curtain material :cb:
the dresses pretty much look like they have empress waists, with a mix of double galas thrown in.

this style is sorta in pakistan. the umm long-overcoat style thingamajig. maybe it has a better name =/
i like the texture and cloth they are using though. very luxuriant. i hope kaliyon wali kameezain/dresses come back soon. i have a killer kameez i wanna wear :bummer:
Re: Anarkali Dresses
i think arjun is pretty hot =p he makes my day happy =) yea i know the coat style was in maybe 2 monthes ago now i see this dress stuff becoming popular. Its beggining to look more trendy and wearable not to umrao jaan'ish. I love the colors and materials they are pretty hot!
Re: Anarkali Dresses
super nice!
but the other style methinks is for girls with smaller chests… i don’t think it would look very decent or flattering on me, even though i really like it! ![]()
Re: Anarkali Dresses
Good stuff but i dont think i could wear it itss too anarkali for me hehe...
Re: Anarkali Dresses
Those are just dresses with empire waists. Nowadays (they were popular in Europe in the 1800's), they're pretty much solely for women who are pregnant or very thin.
It looks a lot like a pathan type of shalwar kameez. I'm sure you could find something easily like it.
Re: Anarkali Dresses
in late 70's that dress was called midi..
Re: Anarkali Dresses
haha i thot u meant dresses from anarkali (lahore)!
haha i did too :p
Re: Anarkali Dresses
I recently saw Bipasha Basu on some show wearing this GORGEOUS dark pink and gold colored anarkali shirt with chooridars.. oh my god, I have never really liked churidars so much but her dress was stunninggg and so elegant. I'll post pics when I find some. Then again on the same show, Madhuri wore a similar style but in different colors. Seems like they have hit the Indian fashion scene big time.
Re: Anarkali Dresses
ok i’m so in love with this dress
is this also called anarkali?? and can regular darzi’s in pakistan make this??
Re: Anarkali Dresses
haha i did too :p
yeah, like not another "anarkali is paindu,e www!" thread :p
Re: Anarkali Dresses
that is gorgeous, sabriya! and for sure they could, but i like my churidar’s with a bit more gher at the bottom… this one looks like really pretty embellished tights ![]()
Re: Anarkali Dresses
I think one needs good long legs for this type of kameez/dress
Re: Anarkali Dresses
speaking of which, are kameezes really this long now?
im making all of mine knee length...
Re: Anarkali Dresses
kameezain aren’t this length. it’s a special typa dress that’s supposed to be like almost calf lenght. kameezain are a bit knee lenghtish. i can’t remember what lenght my new kameezain are anymore ![]()
Re: Anarkali Dresses
Is it a churidaar pajama or are they capri pants?
I couldnt tell from the pic, wish it was full length. Either way, its perfectttt I want it so bad! ![]()
Re: Anarkali Dresses
the style in these days with the gown typa shirt is straight-legged pants. not exactly capris, not exactly tight/chooridar pajama
my cousin wore it, except i don’t have a pic of her standing in it. just sitting pics ![]()
Re: Anarkali Dresses
i thought the same until i read your post ![]()
i was like …Wow!! anarkali main itne ache dressesss
Re: Anarkali Dresses
does anybody have pics of those churidaar outfits with super long dupatta-I think they call em a pashwaas? (spelling?) but it's like they use to wear it in the Mughal time-and some wear in on weddings...any pics? please
