My initial argument still stands. Voters chose to bring back someone who failed consistently for 5 years, and voted out a party that was there for just 70 days…nearly not enough time for any govt to be judged on a long term basis.
“Corruption free” doesnt mean everyone in KPK will become an angel in 90 days. It means that there will be meaningful steps in place to tackle corruption and nip it in the bud. Right to information act is already in place. If that is not a major step towards tackling corruption, then I dont know what is.
The same goes for Bilours as well. NA-1 is a safe seat for them, its only personalities like Imran and BB who have beaten them. It was difficult to beat him in the by elections which was made worse by selection of a bad candidate against him.
Disregarding this, I’d want PTI to consider this as a warning and get their own house in order. I want PTI to perform, but we should keep in mind they are in their third month versus Shabaz Sharif’s 63rd month.
yes it does go Bilour no doubt about that. but ironically this could have easily been reverted by choosing right candidate as we all know, so many times it has been mentioned that still collective votes for both PTI groups are more than Bilour
The different factors at play in NA-1 were two candidates of PTI who divided the votes, and collective votes of PMLN, ANP, JUI and PPP to Bilour. Anyways, this again cements the fact that selection of candidate should be done carefully.
those PTI voters also gave 12 k votes to other PTI member who stood as independent candidate, tht was the main issue internal candidate issues of PTI, n moreover we all know by elections mei turn out thora hota hai, general elections pe ppl came from outside Pakistan just to vote
20k + 12 k = 32 k votes for PTI in by election compared to 90 k in general election. so the deficit related to overseas of Peshawar (90 k - 32 k =58k).
What is ik after, is hard to achieve. He wants to transform country, people, state institutions every thing.
And the blor seat ??? are you kidding me ??? put it other way, only person who could defeat blor was IK him self.
Problem is not with IK, its with political analyst, IK waited 17 years with out doing shoob’da baazi. Analyst have to
to do shoob’da baazi every day, or they are out of business. Even the honest ones. like haroon rashid.
it could be cos people of peshawar are so fickle that they voted back the same failed politician of 5 years who delivered nathan but PR stunts OR it could cos ppl didnt buy into PTI party ideology, they need electables, seasoned , professional politicians to vote
turn out was 12% as per OP. but the question remains unanswered why Peshaweris chose to stay at home, after they have got won IK just 2 months back. The answer is probably PTI’s internal rifts, wrong candidate, but people from this constituency are also complaining about the rude behavior of PTI’s leadership. They have given their decision against all this mismanagement and taken for granted attitude. So PTI should learn and move on.
Its not a big issue at the end of the day. election main ek jeet ta hai, ek harta hai… haarne wala should consider the reasons behind defeat seriously and address the concerns of people (whether they are 1% or more than 50% without saying that its being exaggerated ).
