Launch jihad against MQM, PHCBA chief asks Pushtoons
The Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) Monday warned MQM ministers not to visit NWFP and urged lawyers and Pushtoons to shoot the ministers if they crossed Attock bridge. “Burn down MQM offices and wage a jihad on its members on seeing them anywhere in the province,” PHCBA President Abdul Latif Afridi told a lawyers’ meeting before the joint opposition joined them at Qissa Khwani Bazaar. “Pushtoons will avenge the bloodshed of innocent Pushtoons in Karachi by the MQM, which is a group of terrorists,” Afridi said. He said President Pervez Musharraf, Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Governor Ishratul Ebad should be charged with “deliberate murders”. Barrister Masood Kausar, provincial organiser of the PPP lawyers’ forum, said the lawyers should take action against the MQM to avenge Pushtoons’ killing.“We have considered Karachi mohajirs our brothers since 1947 but the recent bloodshed proves they migrated from India to destabilise Pakistan,” he added. “Only the PPP acted against the MQM terrorists on May 12. Political parties are now united to wipe out this terrorist group from Karachi and help Sindhis get rid of them forever,” Kauser said. Sources told Daily Times that the MQM provincial president had closed the party office in Peshawar to avert possible attack

The MQM has already waged their badmaashi ka jihaad on the pakhtuns of Karachi and will now have to pay... I hope their badmaashi, bhatta collection, and most importantly, their governance comes to a complete end.

How many Pukhtoons are killed by suicide bombers, Taliban fanatics but never gets your attention nor does it ignite such hatred demonstrated against Mqm. I do not wish to know why, but will say this, blood has the same color and ppl hurt the same way.

It's one thing to hate the MQM terrorists, but it's another thing to declare that the entire mohajir community are traitors, and in effect invoke a jihad against them as some of the NWFP lawyers are doing.

In 2002 elections, the voting turnover in Karachi was less than 30%. MQM riggged poll by not allowing polling agents of opponents in its stronghold. Even then they lost the seats of Gulshan and Hyderabad.

KARACHI, May 13: The Pakhtun Action Committee, calling itself Loya Jirga, has warned the Sindh government, particularly the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, against continuing with making attempts and hatching conspiracies to push the city towards a civil war.
Addressing a press conference at his residence on Sunday, PAC chairman Shahi Syed observed that Urdu-speaking people at large were not involved in the incidents of indiscriminate shooting at Pakhtun groups on Saturday.
Shahi Syed, who is also President of the Awami National Party, Sindh, appreciated his party workers for exercising patience and remaining peaceful during the whole episode. However, he made it clear that pursuing the policy of non-violence should not be taken as Pakhtuns’ weakness.
He accused the government of pushing Pakhtuns against the wall, and said the ANP and PAC fully supported the opposition’s call for strike on Monday against the attacks on the people who intended to participate in the rally to welcome the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.
