This "rumor" email is getting forwarded mindlessly, and in my view is more wishful thinking than anything else. Its possible that Mushy can resign, but this article has at least two factual inaccuracies that gives rise to doubts about the whole theory.
First Musharaf is definitely not the father-in-law of TV actor Asif Raza Mir. His son-in-law's name is Asim Reza. Someone got confused with the similar-sounding names and embellished it with Tanhaiyan reference. Pretty stupid.
Second, Mushy's son does not live in Boston. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He moved here several years ago from Boston. Seems someone had some dated knowledge and inserted it in this rumor piece without any verification. Mushy's brother still lives in Boston, I think.
Since the writer could not even get basic facts straight, makes it very doubtful that he (or she) had intimate knowledge of what was discussed between Mushy and Kiyani, anyway.
Lets wait and see. :)

Well, what I came to know from some sources (could be rumour, I do not know) is that Army is very upset with President Musharraf decision that he has allowed past crooks, especially NS back into the country, as they think that NS actions against Army was such that he should have got hanged in 1999. Some in the army want NS to get hanged even now and are pushing President to impose military rule again so that NS can be tried again for selling the interest of country after Kargil, and interfering with military.
Anyhow, President has told them to wait and see how these crooks would run the country, and promised that if they would take confronting path with Presidency, by either trying to impeach the President or by trying to reinstate corrupt judges, than he would use 52-B to dissolve the government, try NS again on charges of working against the interest of Pakistan, such that if NS get convicted, he could get hanged (or could go to prison for a long time).
It seems that next few months could be very exciting in Pakistan, depending on these crooks confronting with Presidency or running the country without confrontation and without corruption.

Can you elobrate on his options once the judiciary will be restored...are you implying that he will stay to get humilated...after getting declared as illegal President of Pakistan...even get prosecuted according to article 6 of the constitution of Pakistan...or will he go to the extereme of dissolving the assembelies...to save his kursi...and face public wrath and curse...knowing his past record...he is capable of going to any extereme to destabilse the country...what do you think as a supporter of Musharraf...will be his next course of action..

Yea, Iftikhar is a fair judge. Judiciary will be restored and Iftikhar would declare that NRO was illegal and Zardari was wrongly released from Prison by Musharraf, so Iftikhar would order that Zardari should get arrested and should be put in Prison. Iftikhar would also start hearing on Zardari murder cases (Murdur of Murtuza) and would set up enquiry on murder of a Judge and his son (that Zardari is alleged of).
Fair Iftikhar would also declare that Musharraf had no right when he gave pardon to Nawaz and his family and let them go to Saudi Arabia. It was completely illegal. Nawaz was waiting to get hanged in prison after conviction of terrorism. So, Iftikhar would order that Nawaz and Shahbaz should be put in Prison and than in few days Nawaz should get hanged.
Further, fair Iftikhar would order investigation of Shahbaz who is accused of many murders while Chief Minister of Punjab.
Than Iftikhar would get investigation of Atizaz that while in office as Law minister, how much corruption Atizaz did and how much money Atizaz received from those criminals he appointed as Judges (one of them was convicted murderer). Ifitkhar would see that what other corruption Atizaz has done in office and would send Atizaz to prison on corruption charges.
Further, Iftikhar would personally apologise to people he deprived from progressing in their career so that Iftikhar son Arsalan would get promoted in life. Then, Iftikhar would come in public, would apologise to all Pakistanis, and then would tell public that he was a corrupt judge who did lot of nepotism, corruption while in office, and misused his office, so he has decided to resign and would ask to be put in prison for 5 years as office of 'Chief Justice' got tarnished and disrepute because of him.

The thing one should remember is that PML(Q) got second largest vote (around 8.5 million) after PPP (around 10 million). PML(N) got around 6 million votes. If one includes the vote of all Parties who were allies of PML(Q) in Islamabad, than they got around 11.5 million votes, even more than PPP.
In terms of votes, PML(Q) and allies got more votes than any party in Sindh, Balochistan and even in Punjab. Only reason they did not got as many seats is because at many places they were second in terms of votes. In NWFP, PML(Q) and allies got less votes than only ANP.
In this election, only two parties got reasonable votes from all 4 provinces, that is PPP and PML(Q)
So, to say that President Musharraf has no support amongst masses in Pakistan is lie that only Nawaz, his goons and his supporters can say, because they are good in only ONE thing, that is doing propaganda, spreading disinformation and lies.
Further, it is not only PML(Q) and allies that support Musharraf but there are many voters of PPP and ANP who also support President. Actually, PPP never had such a good time in opposition what they had during last 5 years. Unfortunately, whenever in past PPP was in opposition, they got persecuted badly (by Zia as well as his adopted corrupt and liar son Nawaz). It was Musharraf that not only released Zardari and dropped all his corruption charges but he also dropped corruption charges of BB. Actually, Amin Fahim (PPP) was first choice of President to form government in 2002, but BeNazir for her personal reason, did not let PPP form the government.
Supporter of 'Punjab Municipal Party' should know that their Party did not get more votes than PML(Q) even in Punjab or any province of Pakistan. They should remember that Iftikhar was holding domicile of Baluchistan and the party that got most vote in Baluchistan is PML(Q), why?
So, my advice to supporter of 'Punjab Municipal Party' is that they should start respecting the support of people from other provinces and shut up.

How can you add PPP and Punjab Municipal party (North) votes? They are two different parties who are always enemy of each other persecuting each other and barking at each other, especially Nawaz and his goons.
Nawaz the liar use to say that he could not see the face of Zardari and today he is licking the As*s of Zardari. You know why? Because Zardari do not need him in Islamabad as well as Punjab and PPP could form the government in both Islamabad and Punjab discarding Nawaz and his municipal party, so Nawaz who once use to lick the As*s of Zia and use to bark at PPP for Zia, today want to change his master, so that Master Zardari can throw the bone of Punjab to him.
As for PPP, throughout last 5 years they voted with PML(Q) to bring many changes in Pakistan. Rather, whatever pro-Musharraf elements proposed in parliament, they got support of PPP parliamentarians more than some from PML(Q) members, but Punjab Municipal party (North) always opposed anything what President proposed. So, in that sense you can add vote of PPP with PML(Q) as pro-Musharraf vote, rahter PPP as against Musharraf vote.

Well, does Musharraf really needs any vote bank? Did he needed vote bank in 1999 when Musharraf kicked the man dreaming to become Amir-ul-Momanin on 2/3 majority in parliament? (Today, no party has even 1/3 members in parliament). Well, leave a military general, even people without any public or military support, that were Ishaq and Laghari, kicked people with huge vote bank? So, why worry about vote bank?
If Musharraf also have vote bank than that is extra strength, else in reality he does not need any vote bank to give anyone in power a good kick
