If the pain is so extreme, you really should see a doctor about this, there may be an underlying issue as to why the pain is so extreme. Usually a Tylenol/Advil helps, or it helps me to walk a bit. Laying curled up with heating bad also helps.
I think you need to visit your GP luv. They have the hard core drugs!
Try not to stress out about it either. My time of the month was awful from the ages of 12-21, I would get sent home from school once a month...even the head teacher knew why! Now I just pretend there is no pain and allow it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, but chocolate helps too!
If the pain is really really intense, then it is best to see a gynac. Usually, they will do an ultrasound to make sure everything is good and might even do a hormone test, since sometimes hormonal imbalances can lead to intense menstrual cramps.
Also, from experience, as much as one would like to lie down during the cramps, it is best to walk a little or do some very light exercise (stretching, yoga) to relieve the pain. The cramps are essentially due to uterine muscle contractions and light exercise helps to relax those muscles.

This is just same condition this is also called dysmennorhoea (pain in association with periods) I was in before my marriage, the first three days are killing days then afterwards it was subsided, but after marriage just vomitting is gone not pain, after delivery front pain is gone but back pain kills me, I took ponston but after two months the effects is gone then I took ansaid 100 mg one tablet is enough, it worked at that time(before marriage) and helps me a lot to subside the pain, try this. Right now I tolerate back pain if it hurts I take tylenol, but that pain is gone Allah ka shukar hai.
i would get it checked out..
but i used to get horrific period pain in my teens.. i was told to improve my diet and include lots of iron rich food items... that helped a LOT since i was anaemic... another thing that i can vouch for is V8, teh vegetable drink... when i knew my diet had been crappy.. and i knew my period due date.. a week or 2 before.. i would start drinking a glass everyday and i would have really easy periods...i dont know what it has in it or if it was just my thinking.. but honestly... it did it help.
and when i did neither of the above, advil worked great
Go to the Dr and tell them to check u out. Ask to be checked for endometriosis, bcos one of the signs of this is immense pain as u describe.
Some Dr's advise to start taking Ponstan from 2 days b4 period starts, then continue until u don't need it anymore.
Stay away from ALL sorts of caffeine, it can make the pain much worse. Cut out caffeine completely, throughout the whole month. So no cola! If u drink coffee, buy de-caf instead. Also same with tea.
Take one-a-day multi-vitamins and mineral capsules with iron everyday.
U can take 2 Nurofen Plus capsules. Thats ibuprofen with Codeine. U can also take paracetamol with it at the same time.
Hot water bottle at your back, and on your stomach. Lie down and don't make sudden movements.
Again, see your doctor and harrass them until they help u. Hope something works for u.
OMG! my first 2-3 days are horrible, cant even explain. i take med. called alvedon, but doesnt help :/ mom tells me not to drink cold drinks, cold water, ice cream etc, since it tends to make it worse. But i really hate those first days :(
Im always in the same situation, but mines is probably worse. I litterly almost faint i cant walk, throw up and my stomach pains are IMMENSE!!!!
my mom took me to the gynacologist and they suggested amoxly (i think thts how its spelled) i take 500 mg tablets when i need them and helps a lot but if not im lyk litterly dead
Don't ignore it just have a doctor see you.. there are loads of medicines specifically for period pain. Aleve is great..tylenol menstural relief is effective too.
I used to get the same kind of pain. I would have fever, chills, vomitting, intense pain in abdomen and back, etc. I was SICK every month...I remember not being able to move sometimes because the pain was too much for me.
I went to a gynie, she put me on birth control to help with regularity (I was also irregular) and a homeopathic doctor as well. I was about 16 yrs old at the time so I dont know what the homeopathic doctor gave me but it helped SO much. My periods got a lot better and now I have some mild back pain some cramps in my abdomen but thats it. Its bearable now, nothing like it used to be.
If you have vomitings that means pain is definitely unbearable....that is why you have vomiting that it is so extremely painful...i have had it 2-3 times in life and ya you feel you are going to die. Everyone gave good suggestions, exericse helps a lot also. Regular cardio or even pilates will reduce the pain guranteed. If you stop exercising, it comes back after few months:)
I was also in that horrible situation that days before marriage 7-8 vomitting without anything in my stomach, chill, backache, abdomen pain just like labor pain and weakness and my brother said u ate so much thats why u r sick and I smile with painful face :o.
