So I have been coming back to uk once a year. And on.every return people keep asking.me. about child benefit etc tax credits etc and assume I’m still taking them.!!! My aunty has asked me 10 times.and again yday she said oh u must still be taking the benefits
I said no and why would I? She didn’t believe me!!!
Why is this being asked? Is this normalor something? And I’m.already scared i.didn’t.even.fill out my driving licence application because u.need.to be in the country for a certain time a year.
Akot of Pakistani? Or just generally a lot of people do this? And I’m.actually worried that everyone thinks its.normal and they don’t consider it.fraud
They probably dont believe u because they themselves would most likely continue to claim benefits despite no longer being eligible for them. So as long as you know your doing things by the book then dont worry about other peoples opinions/comments.
So you're saying you don't claim child benefit for any your children?
Sorry, but I don't believe that for a second.
Curious as to why you wouldnt believe her. I know everyones entitled to child benefit regardless of incomebht if you are abroad all year and can afford tk travel back and forth then is it neededv
Presumably child tax credits etc which is available in the UK.
Children born in UK and all commonwealth countries or only those born in England?
so how much Tax is paid to the Govt when child is born? or s it the other way around UK pays people to have children? and subsequently helps raise them from then on?
Don't think your entitled to benefits if your not living in the UK..
And since you are here you might as well.
Some woman from Romania with 11 kids lives here, both parents don't work and they get tonnes of benefit money... They love it here., obviously.
See what your missing out on USA.. No you can't come back now :D

Just imagine if all ex-patriots from England were to return with their children, the Queen would go broke!
so how long does the UK Govt support children living in the UK? all through College?
because a lot of Canadians and British folks claim benefits while away from the country. it's none of their business to ask...are they trying to find about it so they could snitch on you?
of course not...if someone is away from the country he/she should not claim benefits. it's the government agency's job to ask for documentation for their continued stay in the UK or Canada.
i know a family who lives in Pakistan [he is a tableeGhii guy] and he collects child tax benefits for his 3 kids @ ~ $500 per month per child]...it's a ripoff. it amounts to stealing!
I know a number of people who had their children in Canada (Canadians who no longer permanently reside there) because of the free healthcare and the child benefits. After the birth, they apply for all the benefits, set up direct deposit to their bank account and leave Canada to go back to where they live now (usually Pakistan). They are collecting this free money at the expense of others who are working hard everyday and are taxed from their salary . It makes me mad that people do this. I live in the US now, but my child has Canadian citizenship because both my husband and I are Canadian but we do not claim the benefits because it's wrong. But some people think they are entitled to it just because they are Canadian, even if they have never worked a day in their lives in Canada.
I didn't know people could claim benefits just because of their citizenship. My parents never did that or didn't know about it and they struggled. Are the benefits only for certain income levels or for anyone who is born in Canada? Why does that not make sense to me. Are we talking about access to healthcare or like money every month?? I guess I am confused. And no, no one has any business asking you about anything. Im surprised people living abroad can even get away with this kind of thing. Why aren't they more investigative if whether or not a person is actually living here or not.

The amount of money you receive is based on your income level. But there is also a $100/month you receive for all children under the age of 6 to help with child care costs, no matter the amount of your benefits. And yes, it's monthly money the government gives you. I believe you have to apply for them. But even if you don't apply, once your parents file taxes and list children under 18 as dependents it's supposed to automatically come (that's what someone told me).
