Nikkiiiiiii , I found this one place that does awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeee embroidery…they had mostly engagement and bridal wear but also did party wear and the work was exquisite…
I almost ordered a bridal lehnga …told mom lehnga book kerdeithi hoon , i’ll find the dulha later …it was thattttttttttttt gorgeous…a deep feroze and nude beige combo
And the price wasn’t bad …starting from $500 for party wear and engagement dresses to like $2500-3000 for bridals !***
I din't take any pix........but his kaam was very different compared to others I've seen in that the material , threads , crystals etc he had used was very good quality.......and he was offering like the whole thing from scratch...material , kaam and stitching ,so you get the outfit ready to wear.........most other places you got to give them your own material and then hope they will use a good quality thread n stones etc......
Other than him there are loads of places in Saddar that offer embroidery and do a pretty good job .....and for less like a party outfit for $100-200 .
My Mom n sisters usually get stuff embroidered .....i'll see if I take pix of the ones they got done recently and upload .........however I've not yet had anything done myself......
What I do like though is that you got very good material like silks and embroidered chiffons which I found in places in Islo for like starting at 8000 rs just for the kameez and dupatta ( unstitched material ) and the same thing here in the range of 5000rs.......... I'll post pix of some of those I got recently stitched for Eid/weddings
My experience with Peshawar was just for a couple of hours as a Transit passenger.
But honestly, this thread has changed my views about them considerably.I thought Pathans were very arrogant violent in nature and oppressives when it comes to treating women. Also the behavioural or cultural differences through geographical distinction between the Highlanders and Lowlanders is a new info to me.
I always(or people in general) had the impression about Peshawar especially, was that it is a hub of weapon trade and it was a hub for terrorism.
Many of my views have been changed by this thread.Nice one . :)
^ As far as the weapons are concerned, its part of their culture. They keep it as sign of their honor and use it for protection only. Just like in past ppl would keep swords n almost every man was an expert swordsman.
sheyn hope we get to see your lengha pics too, ferozi is such an exquisite color for a lengha!!
post a pic as soon you get a chance. and don’t be modest you know you got the gorgeousness in you
